FROM SPACE continued

These pictorial representations of how the desert once was were discovered by French
Military Officers in the Twentieth century, but it was never understood how the land
could have been so fertile and productive, until the space shuttle Columbia rediscovered
the ancient riverbeds, invisible to land or air observers.

But, underneath different parts of the Sahara, some of these underground rivers may still
be flowing:

There is, even, among the Tuaregs, a specialized group of desert Marabouts (Islamic Holy
Men) called "The Men of Water Wisdom", to whom has been handed down knowledge of
the courses along which these hidden rivers still run. These water finders are reputed to
be able to locate water in the most desolate parts of the desert, a talent inherited or deve-
loped from sources lost in remote antiquity.

The disappearance of the Sahara Desert rivers west of the Nile and the drying up of the
Sahara area they once watered is a further indication of the worldwide climactic changes
that occurred at the end of the last glacial period - which is also the time span applied to
the destruction of Atlantis.
