Look at all the de-industrialization that has gone on in the past 15 years. The reason why gas is so expensive is because the value of the dollar has declined so much. If you are buying gas in euros you are paying less this year than you did last year. If you are paying in dollars then you are paying 70% more for the same gas you did a year ago. Industry backs a currency. America's trade debt is weakening the value of value of the dollar. America imports more than it exports. Many foreign countries are abandoning the dollar because of how weak it is getting.
All the outsourcing of jobs and offshoring of companies is how the past
CFR candidates like Bush 41 and Clinton managed to cut America's exports and there by weaken the value of the American dollar.
