Lynn, the Sphinx, and the pyramids themselves are as powerful as ever. It's their power source, (the energy lines of the earth) that have changed, and are no longer sending the amount of power to these places anymore.
As for past life regression, here's my take on all of that: In mystical thought we have three main components, (a body, a soul, and a spirit... and these words are often misused and their meanings confounded by language). The soul is the mid ground between two opposing parts, the body and the spirit. The body is a temporary thing with temporary desires of the here and now. The spirit is an eternal thing, a piece of God which is on loan to us. The whole suppossed misunderstanding between eastern and western thought on reincarnation lies in this misunderstanding. It's the spirit that is eternal, and so it could have belonged to another soul in a past life... more over it most certainly must have belonged to some one else or at least another creature before we inherited it. And the spirit knows this, and who it belonged to and all the memories that would have been associated with that other life.
But the soul is not eternal... but it could be. It's up to us to develope our current incarnation to the point that the spirit would make this incarnation a permanent home in that soul. This is the promise of Christianity. If you really delve into Christian mystism, it's not saying that reincarnation is false... what's its saying is that YOU, your soul.. has never had another existance... but your Spirit has most certainly been somewhere else before. The supposed dispute is more a point of view, than a disagreement.
I for one am sure that my spirit has been in several other places in the past that I am drawn to, and seem to rermember somehow. Egypt is one for sure and of course, (the real reason while we're all drawn here), ...ATLANTIS.

Hi Rockessence,
I haven't gone very far, just been really busy with family & converting my novel to a graphic novel script. I still keep an eye on the forums, just haven't had time to post much. (It's 6:20 AM here as I'm writing.
)
MDSungate,
I think the power is supressed, most likely evolved, but not necessarily changed in a bad way. It probably has something to do with the moved sarcophagus & humans screwing up the earth that's throwing the energies off. We, as humans, always seem to find a way to destroy everything in our path or supress/destroy what we don't understand. It's our nature. It will be our doom! Most people don't care if there is a planet left for our children to live on.
I have no desire to dive into Christian mysticism, or any other religious mysticism. All religion steeped in controversy, irrationality, & radicals who use the "Word of God" (regardless of the deity they worship) as a reason to go around slaughtering innocent people. It doesn't matter what religion it is, they all try to teach us how to become closer to the Creator. It's the journey that's the most important. As a matter of fact, I was talking to a devout Christian the other day & boy did the conversation get heated fast. God forbid if I told the guy I was a pagan! He would have tried to convert me. I don't WANT to be converted. I'm not gullible enough to believe that the earth is only 5,000 years old, like he was. That's the problem with the world today, organized religion... One of these days I'll write a book about how Religion & Government Screwed up the world. BTW, the Bible was compiled by Constantine in 112 AD (I think) to mingle the pagan religion with the ever growing Christian one. Most texts from the Bible were taken from older text from varying religions existing at that time. It has nothing to do with the hand of God reaching down & making these men write this mystical writing, which for some reason became a primary religion 2000 years later. It is the only book in the world that we know to be inaccurate yet millions of gullible people follow blindly while it's priests & holy men do exactly what their good book tells them not to do. Organized religion is corrupt & falliable, just as man is. Micheal didn't sit down & write the books attributed to him. His name was attached to it so the "Christ followers" would accept it. I can find half the things in the Bible in older texts from Egypt & Sumeria.
We know the body is finite, made of energy. It returns to the energy when the body dies. The spirit & soul return to the energy of the Creator upon death. My spirit & soul thrives & continues from one life to the next, evolving & learning as I reach ascention. My soul is simply my character, which follows the spirit into a new body when reincarnated. The soul is attached to the spirit, only the body changes from lifetime to lifetime. I still have a lot to learn before I evolve to the point where my soul & spirit returns to the Creator. My spirit has been here before. As many priestess (pagan & other) have told me before, I am an old soul. They did not say an old spirit. It is visible to them & they see it. I still would like to do some regressive hynopsis though & as $$ allows, I'll do it.
Sorry, I have to go now. Time to wake the kid for school. I'll continue later.
Blessed be,
Lynn

The Sphinx is an incarnation of Ra-Harakhty, the god of the rising sun. It was an
appropriate image to use by Atenists. Akhenaten was frequently depicted as a
Sphinx worshipping the Aten.

Andrew Collins Astonishes ARE Conference with Cygnus Constellation's Connection to Giza and Hall of Records
• Collins, Jacque Vallee, Whitley Strieber booked for 2008 Conference •
by Dr. Greg Little
Virginia Beach, VA—The Annual Ancient Mysteries Conference at the Association for Research & Enlightenment (ARE) in Virginia Beach is considered to be the premiere venue in America to release new research into ancient mysteries. England's Andrew Collins, author of The Cygnus Mystery, presented two stunning lectures to an audience of nearly 300 at the conference, held on October 4-7, 2007. In his first presentation, Collins showed convincing evidence that the constellation of Cygnus, also known as the Northern Cross, was venerated in ancient times by nearly every culture around the world. Cygnus, located near the Great Rift of the Milky Way, was seen as the doorway between the physical world and the spiritual realm. In his second lecture, Collins literally astonished the audience by showing how the three cross stars of Cygnus fit almost perfectly onto the three large pyramids at Giza. In addition, Collins revealed clear and compelling evidence showing how Cygnus played a key role in ancient Egyptian astronomy. He also showed how in 2600 BC, these three stars of Cygnus literally sat on top of the apexes of the three pyramids as viewed from the nearby hill known as Gebel Ghibli. This hill, which is now suspected to be referenced in several of Edgar Cayce's readings on a record hall established beneath Giza by Atlanteans, has the appearance of a pharoah reclining in a sarcophagus. Placing the remaining stars of Cygnus onto the Giza plateau revealed several key spots, several of which might well conceal entrances to the Hall of Records. Collins' presentations were the major highlight of the conference.
For several decades, ARE members have supported the idea that the three belt stars of Orion might have served as the pattern for the three pyramids, but this idea has not been very useful for further research. In addition, it has been recognized and acknowledged that the three stars of Orion's Belt actually do not fit onto the three pyramids and even the Orion alignments of the shafts in the Great Pyramid are in great doubt. With the new evidence showing that Cygnus fits the pyramids, that the three cross stars of Cygnus literally sat at the apex of each pyramid, and that the other stars of Cygnus point to key locations at Giza, the Cygnus alignment at Giza has moved to the front line of ARE attention.
Collins has already been asked to lecture at the 2008 Ancient Mysteries Conference where he will present more findings on the Giza link to Cygnus. In addition, others who will lecture include Whitley Strieber (see the review of his book 2012 in this issue), Jacques Vallee (on ancient visitations, Dr. Greg Little (on American Mound Builders), and Dr. Lora Little with the latest finds in the Search for Atlantis.

Great!
Greg Little told us here at AO that Collins had found the Hall of Records, a few months ago.
Problem is, will they allow a dig?

Wow that's great news B! I'm betting Hawass puts up a big stink & doesn't let them dig there. Then we'll know he's hiding something big. Now we need to do some studying on Collin's research about the Cygnus correlations & see what we find as well. This is going to be very intersting to see how this turns out.

We can all be optimistic reagarding a dig, but how likely is it? Didn't I hear recently that the ARE has lost their foothold in Egypt, and what with that 22 foot high wall going up around the place, I seriously doubt any outsiders will be allowed to dig. The Egyptians will dig, but what they find won't likely be made public knowledge.

THE EGYPTIAN SPHINX
By Cedric Leonard,
Author of :
The Quest For Atlantis - 1979
The Quest For Atlantis II - 2005
I have two old history books in my personal library which have photographs of the Egyptian Sphinx covered with sand: one written by West (1904) in which the Sphinx is covered up to the neck in sand and another by Myers (1904) which shows the Sphinx with the "chest" only partly excavated. People used to speculate as to what the body of the Sphinx might look like. Of course we now know that the body of the Sphinx is a lion. But why a lion?
According to some renegade scholars, such as John Anthony West and Graham Hancock, there is good reason for this, and it doesn't have anything to do with the historical Egyptians. These two scholars have upset the world of Egyptology by claiming that the Sphinx was sculpted by non-Egyptians more than 9,000 years ago (possibly 10,500 B.C.). They have claimed that the Sphinx has been covered in sand for most of its long history, and why not? If it wasn't continually being cleared by modern workers, it would have been re-buried up to its neck in sand since its excavation in the early 1900s. The shifting sand has to be fought back on almost a day-to-day basis. So, if it has been under the sand for most of its existence, why is it so weathered?
John Anthony West called upon Dr. Robert Schoch, a professor of geology at Boston University to evaluate the nature of the erosion of the Sphinx. After careful investigation, Schoch concluded that the "weathering" of the Sphinx was done by water, rather than by wind and sand as commonly believed; that it was first created back during the alluvial period toward the end of the Ice Age when Egypt was experiencing copious amounts of rainfall; and that the Sphinx must be at least 7,000 years old (a conservative estimate by his own admission; Schoch, 1992). He presented his findings to a large forum of geologists, and his conclusions that the weathering patterns evident on the sphinx were the result of water erosion, rather than wind, were generally accepted. Egyptologists, however, were outraged; but Egyptologists have never welcomed geologists into their play pen. But what has all this to do with lions?
It seems that West, following the work of an earlier researcher, Robert Bauval, determined that in the year 10,500 B.C., on the day of the Spring equinox, the Sphinx would be looking at his own counterpart in the morning sky, Leo the lion (West, 1979). In fact, they speculate, and rightfully so, that the original Sphinx also had the head of a lion. Colin Reader, another geologist noticed that the Egyptian "pharaoh-like" head we see today is much too small in proportion to the body of the Sphinx, and that, even though it has suffered damage from vandals, the face is not eroded like the body (if the head has always been exposed to the weather, it should be more eroded than the body). Reader believes the head of the original sphinx has been re-sculpted from an original lion's head into an Egyptian pharaoh-style head (interesting!). Take away the pharaoh-style head and all "Egyptian" traits disappear. All in all, the evidence seems to point to a Sphinx originally sculpted by an unknown culture in the far distant past, before the Egyptian culture was even in existence.
So why a Lion? We know that the mean ("central") date of the age of Leo is 9,880 B.C. We also know that the geological epoch known as the Pleistocene came to a close near that date; that a mass extinction of animals accompanied that end; that all Upper Paleolithic cultures ended on or near that date; that human population was decimated at that time; and that this Great Event was accompanied by worldwide volcanism (Hibben, 1946).
In addition, Manetho, the Egyptian priest-historian, records an abrupt interruption in his king-list at that time. In other words, worldwide changes of unimaginable magnitude happened during the age of Leo, events which were centered close to the date of 10,000 B.C. This is reflected in the famous Dendera Zodiac which begins with the sign of Leo. Did it harold a new beginning? The appearance of the famous Lion-sphinx in Egypt was no mere astrological coincidence. I suspect that the ancients knew when the geological cycles were due to occur, and that the Sphinx was a reminder of an event large and significant enough to affect all mankind.

From:
ATLANTIS to the SPHINX
J. Douglas Kenyon
For the first time since his massive volume The Occult (1971) Colin Wilson has another bestseller, at least in England. And, with any luck, come spring, that achievement will be repeated here when the fledgling New York publishing house Fromm International unveils the U.S. edition of Wilson's From Atlantis to the Sphinx (though not necessarily with that title).
While bestsellers may not be an everyday achievement for Wilson, though he's had more than his share, distinguished books apparently are. In the forty years since originally bursting on the scene with his much acclaimed The Outsider he's averaged about two books a year, enough to earn him mentions in Who's Who and the Encyclopedia Britanica along with various other honors including visiting professorships at several American colleges.
Especially interested in the supernatural he wrote The Occult as an investigation of unexplained phenomena. Initially, something of a skeptic, he recalls, I became absolutely convinced of the reality of the paranormal. Many subsequent related works earned him a considerable reputation in the field. A fascination with the invisible dimensions of human experience has also prompted works on the psychology of crime, human sexuality and his own unique form of existential philosophy, making him something of an authority on those areas as well.

In the new book he argues that thousands of years before ancient Egypt and Greece held sway there was a great civilization whose ships traveled the world from China to the South Pole (which was then free of ice), and whose advanced knowledge of science, mathematics and astronomy was passed on to descendants who escaped to, among other places, Egypt and South America. Wilson believes the ancients possessed a completely different knowledge system from our own, which he believes was at the root of the achievements which so puzzle our modern minds. At the heart of his argument is the current research, especially surrounding the Giza plateau in Egypt, which threatens to overturn conventional theories of the origins of civilization.
Since reading in 1979 Serpent in the Sky, John Anthony West's interpretation of the work of renowned Egyptologist R.A. Schwaller de Lubicz, Wilson has actively followed the most important developments in the field.
He reports on the ensuing geological studies redating the Sphinx to as old as 12,500 years, as much as 8,000 years older than conservative Egyptologists believe, and the evidence developed by Graham Hancock and Robert Bauval of astronomical keys indicating advanced ancient knowledge (discussed in their new book The Message of the Sphinx, Keeper of Genesis in U.K.).
A close friend and virtual neighbor, Wilson has followed Hancock's work closely since well before his monumental Fingerprints of the Gods (see Atlantis Rising #4) as well as that of Bauval, Rand and Rose Flem-Ath (Wilson wrote the introduction for their When the Sky Fell) and, of course, West.
In From Atlantis to the Sphinx, Wilson sets out to chronicle the unfolding story and the implications of the new discoveries, and goes on to attempt something of a reconstruction of the lost wisdom of ancients.

In September Wilson presented some of his research at the University of Deleware for the Return to the Source conference sponsored by the Society for Scientific Exploration. A few weeks prior, however, Atlantis Rising had spoken with him early one morning at his Cornwall home. Fortunately, seven a.m. was not too early for clear thinking. In fact, he assured us, every day of hard writing for him begins about the same time.
Staying in touch with West, Hancock and Bauval remains part of his routine. Within days he had been to Hancock's for lunch with Bauval and West, and is fully abreast of developments in the ongoing controversies over new research at the Sphinx which is apparently going forward without the participation of the group despite their contributions to the new discoveries (as reported in London's Daily Mail as well as Atlantis Rising #8).
Apparently following up on the earlier researches of West and geologist Robert Schoch, the current investigation is said to be seeking a chamber beneath the Sphinx to be opened on live worldwide television later this year. The chamber is believed by some to be the celebrated Hall of Records, the discovery of which was prophesied by Edgar Cayce. However, Wilson reports, his friends aren't really concerned about being excluded, as long as the entire situation comes out in the open.
The present somewhat arbitrary behavior of Egyptian antiquities authorities, though, is taken as grounds for suspecting the integrity of any ultimate outcome. Wilson believes the authorities have recognized the tremendous potential for profit in the entire situation, and have moved to capitalize.

As he explains in From Atlantis to the Sphinx, the machinations of official Egyptology have often been something other than exemplary.
Despite overwhelming evidence of sophisticated engineering in the construction of the monuments of the Giza plateau and throughout Egypt, the establishment has persisted in claims that only primitive methods were employed, thus ruling out any suggestion that some kind of superior science inherited from a more sophisticated period, albeit a forgotten one, was involved.
Most of Wilson's speculation concerns just how sophisticated the ancients may have actually been, not only in matters of engineering, but in many other areas as well.
He is especially interested in the capacities of mind which the ancients must have possessed. In the book he argues that they must have had superior development of the left hemisphere of the brain, the intuitive side. Examples of such development have remained till the present but have been relegated to the domain of shamans and prophets. He cites the case of Gilbert Islanders who in dream states are able to summon porpoises who then appear in great numbers to be killed and eaten.
Citing vast contemporary research confirming the reality of telepathy and other so-called paranormal phenomena, Wilson suggests that the modern right-brain dominated society which we have created has forced us to unlearn many things we once knew. It seems to me we've deliberately got rid of jungle sensitivities. The reason, he believes, is clear, we don't really need them.
What we've done is to plunge into this sort of narrow rational consciousness, which has brought us to the point that we don't know who we are. In Wilson's mind there's no doubt that the ancients knew who they were.

However, while some have suggested that the ancient Egyptians possessed nothing less than a science of immortality, Wilson sees things a little differently.
Obviously they didn't have real immortality or they'd be around now, he points out, but adds, I suspect their whole aim was immortality. That was the aim of their religion...The Egyptians believed absolutely totally in life after death, as all ancient people did, but as to a real science of immortality? No.
Despite his demurs, though, he wants to expand on the topic which has interested him since his teens when he saw Bernard Shaw's play Back to Methuseleh. The idea of living to be 300 absolutely obsessed me.
His own novel The Philosoper's Stone played around with the idea and he's become convinced that even today human beings possess a certain power which switches on at certain moments.

His idea is that we possess a kind of robot which has the purpose of performing certain tasks for us. You learn to type slowly and consciously and then the robot takes over and does it quicker than you could, and you learn to drive or whatever. The robot, he explains, is what makes humans the most advanced creatures on earth but it is also the source of most of our problems, because we are always being taken over by the robot, and when we don't want to be. We listen to a symphony and it moves us deeply. The third time we listen to it, it's the robot listening instead of us. The normal person, he believes, is about 50% robot and about 50% real person.
In curious moments of happiness, in great moments of intensity, what happens is you suddenly become 51% real you and 49% robot. And I'm sure that in mystical experience you become something like 55% real and only about 45% robot. That's what mystical experiences are. If we could only switch into such moods, he thinks they are what psychiatrist Abraham Maslow called peak experiences, all the time, he believes we would be capable of amazing things. I've got a feeling that all these so-called psychic faculties take over in those moments when we are non-robotic.
As for the notion of surviving the death of the physical body, Wilson accepts that it's probably true but doesn't think it is particularly relevant or important. Unlike Dostoevesky who thought that the truth of life after death could be the most important thing that we could know, Wilson believes the most important questions are how to live now we're here, how to escape the robot, how to live on a sort of higher level? If we become preoccupied with life after death, he thinks we're wasting our time.
