Atlantis is real. But the tale contains some inaccuracies. All of these inaccuracies can be accounted for and reconstructed.
1. The 9000 years is the theological timeframe for Ptah. This is an insert from an Egyptian Priest. It does not account for the "second ptah", ie Serapis.
2. Ge(Aahotep II) is only 1000 years prior; she delivers the greek weapons for the war. That is the real timeline.
3. "That's transparently an allegory for the threat posed by Macedon around 360 BCE."-- This is incorrect. Plato says the story come from Solon in the days of Amasis(Ahmose II) in 560BC, who married a greek woman. The tale begins with a flashback to Ahmose I, founder of the 18th dynasty, and his son, Ahmose Sapair, who also marries a Greek woman. There was a war(with the hyksos), and a flood(of Santorini). The tale of Ahmose I would have been popular in the days of Solon and Ahmose II (who was named after him).
4. Ahmose conquers the hyksos in Aethyria(Avaris); the Greeks probably deified him Aether for this. This city was later renamed Atlantia(Pliny). So there is a real city at a real time, with a real war, and a real flood.
5. The tale continues to mention Egyptian Pharaohs from the 18th dynasty, who were deified as Obscure Greek Gods.
6. Cecrops is explicitly mentioned, as is 10k Athenian citizens; Cecrops performed a census and there were 10k Athenians at his time; this is around the time of Thutmose I(Aa kheper ka Ra). Thutmose I was the Atlantia King Ampheres (Mephres in Manetho).
7. Athena is mentioned; the tale of Athena and Poseidon in Athens can be linked back to Hatshepsut and Thutmose II.
8. The term Atlantis comes from Atlantia, wife of Danaus. His brother Egyptus was Amenhotep II.
9. In Diodorus Myrina tale, a Horus is mentioned, he is Manetho's Orus, or Thutmose 4, who was named pharoah by Horus, for unburying the sphinx.
10. Amenhotep III and 4 are Hyperion and Helios. They are not mentioned in the tale.
11. Smenkhkare is Clymenos. He is unmentioned in the tale.
12. Tut is Phaethon. He is mentioned by Plato.
13. Homemheb is Nereus. His Nereid daughter, Amphitrite (similar spelling to Nefertiti), marries Aegeus, father of Theseus.
The tale encompasses the entirety of the 18th dynasty. Every detail has been accounted for. With the gods and there corresponding pharaohs accounted for. And details like the Amphictyonic League accounted for. And Non-Athenian Greeks, like the Thessalian Deucallion, Aeolus(see Aeolian Islands in Tuscany)[same time as Atlas] and Helen accounted for. Diodorus Cerne, is Aeschylus' Karne, or Hyksos Saruhen. The hyksos are conflated with the Atlantians, because they are also in Avaris, but Thutmose I(Mephres) was an Atlantian king, and he was not a hykso.
