The Tarrytown DoubleTree Hotel is where all Sunday events will be held. It is about a mile (approximately 5 minutes by car/taxi) from Lyndhurst Estate, where all Saturday activities will be held.

The DoubleTree Hotel is at 455 S. Broadway, Tarrytown, NY 10591.

The hotel asks SG to share that a limited number of sleeping rooms now are available at a reduced rate.

PLEASE NOTE: These additional sleeping rooms must be reserved for both Fri. & Sat. nights (June 27-28). Those 2 nights are required for this special rate of $179 (+ tax) per night.

To get this 2-night minimum / $179 rate, you MUST call the hotel directly or go online at the following phone number / online address.

You MUST mention the new reservation code  DS2  to receive the discount room rate.

Direct Double Tree Hotel phone: 914-631-5700

Reserve online at:

Once the DoubleTree fills its available sleeping rooms, fans can make reservations at nearby hotels, each a short car or taxi ride from the DoubleTree, Lyndhurst, and Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Here are 2 possibilities. You also may search online for other nearby hotels / motels.

Hampton Inn, 200 W. Main St., Elmsford, NY 10523. 1-914-592-5680.

Westchester Marriott Hotel, 670 White Plains Rd, Tarrytown, NY 10591. 1-914-631-2200.

After the Fest Weekend events conclude at the DoubleTree Hotel at 5:00 on Sun., June 29, fans are welcome to join an “Optional No-Host Fan Field Trip” to Sleepy Hollow Cemetery for a special one-hour guided tour.

Sleepy Hollow itself is the next town north of Tarrytown, also on Route 9N (Broadway). The cemetery is about 3 miles from the DoubleTree.

There is a significant DS connection: Opened in 1849, the 85-acre cemetery was a filming location for the first DS movie, HOUSE OF DS. Scenes shot there were:

--- Willie Loomis (Fest Weekend guest JOHN KARLEN) invades the Collins Family Mausoleum, inadvertently releasing the vampire Barnabas Collins from his secret resting place.

--- The Collins Family attends the funeral for “vampire” Carolyn Stoddard (Fest Weekend guest NANCY BARRETT), which is “officiated” by DS’ JERRY LACY as the reverend.

Sleepy Hollow Cemetery is at 540 N. Broadway, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591. 914-631-0081.

((The Doubletree Hotel is at 455 S. Broadway and Lyndhurst is at 635 S. Broadway, both in Tarrytown.))

The cemetery will extend its regular Sunday hours and will offer a one-hour tour (for $8.00 per person) to accommodate fans who wish to visit as a group at 5:30 pm on Sunday evening, June 29.

Fans may carpool or share a 10-minute taxi ride to and from the DoubleTree Hotel and the cemetery.

In order to see how much fan interest there is in this optional Sunday evening activity, those who'd like to tour the historic cemetery are asked to please kindly send a * brief * confirmation email to   no later than March 15, please.

Please indicate approximately how many adults / children would be in your party.

SG Online Updates will report plans as they develop and are confirmed.

The Fest and ShadowGram appreciate your cooperation in this.

To see Lyndhurst on the big theater screen, the new movie “Winter’s Tale” was filmed inside the mansion and on the estate grounds and surrounding area. Lyndhurst represents “a fortress-like mansion” on NYC’s Upper West Side. It opens nationwide on Valentines Day, 2-14.

The romantic fantasy-mystery plot seems to have a definite DS flavor. There is a sense of “a love so strong that time doesn’t matter” for a man who “somehow finds himself still alive 100 years later.” Some early critics’ comments: --- “A magical realism sort of story…. Oscillating between the time span of a century, this mysterious tale of love is about a burglar who falls in love with a dying girl and wants to interfere with currents of time to win her back to life.” --- “A burglar falls for an heiress as she dies in his arms. When he learns he has the gift of reincarnation, he sets out to save her.”  Official publicity: “Set in a mythic New York City and spanning more than a century, it is a story of miracles, crossed destinies, and the age-old battle between good and evil.” Rated PG-13.

A Warner Brothers featurette “Winter’s Tale: A Love Story for the Ages” explains more about the film, its themes, and its “magic.”
