That's a beautiful set of photos you've offered up here! 

On the topic of Atlantis in Morocco, there is a B&W photo of sunken ruins off the Moroccan coast in Atlantis: the Eighth Continent by Charles Berlitz in the photo section opposite page 81.  They are "fifty to sixty feet" deep, and extend for "several miles"!!!  I'd like to see more photos of that!

Tangier is built on the slopes of a chalky limestone hill. The old town (medina), enclosed by 15th-century ramparts, is dominated by a casbah, the sultan's palace (now a museum of Moroccan art), and the Great Mosque. European quarters, whose populations have declined considerably since integration ...

The  real ' PILLARS' ( of Hercules or Chronos or the 1000 Pillars of IREM(= ras Imram near Ras Aden.)were much like these Harbour-Quais !

Thus not Mountains near Gibraltar but mountaiins near Bab el Mandab, in South Arabia Foëlix.

I loved seeing these great pics!

I was there in 1969 as a 22 year old.  Immediately got amoebic dysentary and almost died.  I had been hitch-hiking across Europe with my boyfriend and thought we could enjoy a few days there!   It was the sickest I have ever been.   A month later we finally got back to Spain...... I had lost about 35 pounds.

My last impression was of a woman on the stairway down from the Casbah to the ferry.  She sat with a tiny baby and she was begging for me to take it with me....

I was glad I was forced to be there so long, past the first weeks of terror, hallucinations and weird sounds.... so that I got to know what an amazing place it was, and how wonderful were some people there.

For Heavens' Sake, can you not see that this thread is not about ATLANTIS AT THE PILLARS, but

an excursion of the territory of Northern Morocco that comprises the tip of the other side of the

Strait of Gibraltar? JUST FOR THE JOY  of looking at the pretty scenery?  Surely, your whole life

cannot be bound  up in the Theory of Atlantis in Aden.....



Take the advice of an OLD woman:

Ease up and SMELL THE ROSES - Life is too short to be B L U E all the time. Or to chase Emmanuel

Volikosky's Theory.  That theory was buried with him 60-odd years ago.

I practically copied the whole book of Charles Berlitz in this Section.  You will find it here under
different headings.

The one you are talking about I renamed THE RUSSIANS' FINDINGS (or something like that).

I never copied the end of the chapter as my aim for the discussion was what I just mentioned.

I just have found the chapter you cited in my book but, unfortunately, some of the pictures are
missing, including the ones you point out and the Russians' -
                           the book has been overused and abused.....

I would retype the last part of the chapter, THE MOUNTAIN PEAKS OF ATLANTIS, but I'm having
a bit of difficulty using the fingers of my left hand and it would take me forever......

One of our members has the book and access to a scanner.  Maybe he can help. I'll get in touch
with him.
