Jason,

It's not possible for us to have basements in Florida.  The water is too close to
the surface.  It'd be a fast way to drown, if one had one and went down there
during a hurricane.

Most of us know where to go that withstands hurricanes; shelters, etc.  Most
of the hurricane deaths are because people did not take appropriate pre-
cautions and evacuate.  I have seen mandatory evacuations, but it's very
hard to ascertain whether ALL have done so.
