Dragon,

Why assume that, because we carry the lessons of the past with us, that we lack the capacity to be happy? I have been fortunate to have made some very good friends, to have family that care about me. Finding these lessons from the past actually only brings more friends, not laments.

I both laugh and learn from people like Anne Frank, I share the hopes and despairs of the people who were in the MS Saint Louis, the "voyage of the damned." I share their hopes, I share theor dreams. We must always remember who came before. If we don't, we forget the pains they suffered for us, And yet, they are friends.

We do have two different philosophies. I think you believe that life to be a party. I believe it is for the betterment of the soul. Being friends, I do not hold that against you. It would be an awfully drab world were we all to be the same.
