U.S. NAVY FOUND ATLANTIS IN 1973!
Underwater city is 19 miles off coast of Spain!
By VINCENZO SARDI

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Navy has known the exact location of Atlantis since 1973 and has even sent nuclear subs to explore the sunken ruins, a new book charges!

"For more than a quarter of a century, the United States government has kept this extraordinary discovery a secret from the American people," claims researcher Jeremy Horwick, authorof the upcoming book, Mission: Atlantis: What the Navy Really Knows about the Lost Continent.

Author: Jeremy Howick
According to Horwick, who cites once-classified documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act and interviews with former seamen, a Navy sub discovered the ruins of the fabled civilization while doing maneuvers off the coast of Spain on July 25, 1973.

"The ruins are about 5,500 feet deep and are quite vast, extending for at least 19 square miles," the D.C.-based author says.

While the captain of the vessel immediately recognized the significance of the find, he received orders to keep mum from the highest levels of the government.

Horwick has evidence that this order came from then-President Nixon, who decided that keeping the discovery secret was in the best national security interests of America.

"Nixon's advisers, including Henry Kissinger, were quite aware of the legends surrounding Atlantis, that it had achieved a highly sophisticated level of technology before the catastrophe that sent it to the bottom of the ocean," says Horwick. "They knew that during World War II, Hitler had sent his U-boats on a desperate hunt for Atlantis, believing that he might retrieve that technology and use it to build a secret weapon that would help Germany achieve victory.

"President Nixon felt that there might be technology Amer-ica could use to win the Cold War and he decided to try to salvage it.

"He didn't want to give the Russians a head's up with any kind of public announcement, out of fear they would plunder it first."

Since that time, the Navy has launched four expeditions to Atlantis, the latest in 1997 -- and has retrieved not only cultural artifacts but scientific machinery, the author claims.

"The Atlantean technology is based on principles very far afield from anything Western science has developed, apparently involving mind-over-matter," Horwick says.

"Some of the latest military hardware we're seeing now, including the Stealth Bomber and the Star Wars missile-defense system now being advanced by President Bush, incorporate technology salvaged from Atlantis."

This power came forth out of the Atlantic Ocean. But afterwards there occurred violent earthquakes and floods; and in a single day and night of misfortune all your warlike men in a body sank into the earth, and the island of Atlantis in like manner disappeared in the depths of the sea.

The Weekly World News is a poor source for information (well, was since it was cancelled last summer), but I did Greg Little about this story and he did verify that they found something at the time of this, 1973.

Atlantis, Rama and LeMuria were highly advanced civilizations.

The imperial Atlanteans, the Sons of Belial, forced many into going off-planet while the post-Atlantean Earth civilizations devolved into tribalism and nomads.

How could something that big remain unfound?  Especially off the coast of Spain..?

Unless, of course, they are talking about the sunken area off of Cadiz, which HAS been explored.

Yeah but Gwen, we are getting into conspiracy theories about our government.
For all any of us know, this could be a peice of disinformation created by the navy to mask perhaps another location altogether.

There is a lot of disinformation out there!  I am sure that some of it is deliberate.

Interesting that no one has ever managed to come up with any pictures of any of these so-called ruins in the Atlantic.  I have seen Dr. Maxine Asher's pix of her ruins in Cadiz, and they don't fit Plato's descriptions.  Then, she hasn't really released much about it either!

Well like Q and I have discussed. We have ancient cultures that knew of the cosmos, Yet it took Columbus to sail the Atlantic to prove to his queen that the world wasn't flat.
It shows us that the past is a distorted veiw of how things are understood. It also shows us how easy it is to hide the huge truth in few small lies.

Beleive me Gwen, I would love to beleive that Atlantis really was this city of technological wonders and diverse culture. Yet, it could have been one of the places occupied by ancient far-eastern cultures adapting old and new ways of doing things. To those occupying the surrounding regions, these far-eastern people would have mezmorized them with the way they did things and would have seemed almost god-like.

Think about an American who has never been anywhere in his/her life going to China to work in a factory assembling random products. I dobt very much they could cut the mustard in keeping up with production standards. Why? China is just faster and more organized in mass production.

The point: It not what they say that we should think about. It's what they aren't saying that we should pay more attention to.

Sorry, guys,

Rockessence brought this up in a discussion about a year ago and I checked out the author,
VINCENZO SARDI.

He is a well-known tabloid writer.  Believe me, in the '70s tabloids were running with all sorts
of wild stories, about people, places, things etc, etc.......

When somebody started to sue them and won (Carol Burnett was one of the first, if not the first),
they started toning it down.  As a matter of fact, the Globe and The Enquirer have often, since, run
TRUE astories that have scooped the REAL press.

One of the worst of the tabloids, THE SUN - employer of VINCENZO SARDI - is still running the
same tired old stories, though.  Including stuff like the above about Atlantis, I often pick it up
and read it at the check outs, have a chuckle and then I put it back....

But, then, we are all free to make our own conclusions......

That's what I thought when I first read this, Bianca, but I did ask Greg Little about it and he did say that they did find something.  I have no doubt that Sardi probably exaggerated some (the super-secret technology, for instance), but the U.S. Navy has been involved with a lot of these Atlantis findings.

When Paula Zelitsky first made her discovery of the ruins off of Cuba, U.S. submarines were there at the same time as the discovery!

Also, Greg has run into AUTEC many times during his dives.

1973 is also the year that Dr. Asher first investigated the underwater ruins off of Cadiz, which is in the same general area as this find.

(And we have all seen the pictures of the underwater ruins off of Spain and Morrocco).

I did a search for Jeremy Howick, and there are lots of Jeremy Howicks out there, some of whom happen to be authors.  The book, Mission: Atlantis: What the Navy Really Knows about the Lost Continent doesn't pop up anywhere, but then, maybe people stopped it from getting published!

Strabo mentions five cities outside the Pillars of Hercules, in the vicinity eastern Atlantic that are no longer on the maps:

Gymnesiae
Erytheia
Hera's Island
Ebusus
Ophiussa

If correct, it is clear that something changed over there that geologists don't yet acknowledge.

Hi Bianca!

I have been reading the first few pages of that. Sucks how backward mainstream archaeologists are in their thinking, right?  It is all about who controls the flow of the propaganda (Or, I mean information Smiley ).

You can tell if you are onto something by how fiercely the crabby old skeptics attack you, like they did with the Bosnian Pyramid!
