Sorry Cassandra but you should not belive everything on You Tube!Thous Bulgarian guys are disinforming the people. The Bulgarians are an nomad people as the Slavian are. They came from Asia and they have nothing to do with the Thracians. The thruth craddle of the Thracians is Romania and the gratest Thracian king-BUREBISTA, has settled the capital of his empire in Transylvania-north of Romania. The north-east of Bulgaria-including the city of VARNA has been lost by Romania-as half of Moldavia and Bassarabia too, after WW2 in favor of the Soviet Union. Some of this teritories are now part of Bulgaria and Ukraine. This is the true history:
See this old maps of Europe showing the thracian teritories. Is well nown that the thracians are the inheritants of the pelasgians, the ancestore of most europeans. You'll note that the entire state of Bulgaria is included in the empire of Dac0-Thracian empire of Burebista.

Hi melanogaster36, and welcome to the forum.  Good info, but I think you are concentrating too much on only Burebista. Sure, his kingdom comprised of only the provinces you mention, but with other Thracian kings, Bulagaria was more prominent.

Here's the Odrysian Kingdom, for instance:

So, I guess if you just want to restrict it to Burebista, you'd be right, but the Thracians went on for a long time after his death.

I haven't watched the Youtube video, but I am sure it is probably inaccurate. Everytime I see something on Bulgaria or the Balkans, or the Thracians, I try and post it here.  Let me know if you need any help getting around the forum, we have a lot of material here!

The Delian League
was the Athenian Sea-League against Persian approchement
dd 480-405 bc
I see the Name KIKoNES in the middle next to the Bistones.

What is it doiing there ? is it a colony ?
According the the Odyssey, the KIKONES
dwelled OPPOSITE( e.g.)in view of the Nile Delta
and were routed on the Seaside shore
by Odysseus men.

KIKONES,  was also the name of their King
in the Bible he was named as amorite- King SIHON
Strangely enough Kikones forgave Odysseus the raid on his Shores.
