There is a record of Arabic traders selling off salvaged pieces of the Colossus of Rhodes. As Pandora pointed out; its on several records. On the other hand show me one piece of evidence that the Emerald Tablets ever existed. Other than new age clap trap, that is. As far as emerald mines in Egypt ever existing in ancient times; there was one. From what explorers were able to put together the stones would be rated rather poor quality by todays standards. The mine was in a very hostile, hot, arid region even for Egypt and was not worked for a very long period of time. But keep in mind there are better quality emeralds in more southern regions of Africa that could have found their way to Egypt through trade.
