I doubt that the owners of the AR website intended for the forum to be taken over by a handful of people, all with the same point of view. I imagine the idea, when they decided to come up with a forum, was to get a variety of views from a diverse group of people - which this forum now sorely lacks.

As for the troublemakers being gone, define "troublemakers." I note that Georgeos is still insulting people at will in the Atlantis forum, while Orion is freely launching the verbal barbs at women. If those two are what now pass for decent AR citizens, it is no wonder that participation has been dwindling.  Angry

Psycho,

I don't share the stereotypical Conservative mindset, not that I will label anyone here any particular way. I'll say I'm more Liberal than Conservative, though I prefer the word "Progressive".

I can't comment on Georgios, but I find ignoring Orion's BS to be a good path at the moment. I don't feel that he's ever debated anything that I've noticed and appears to only make unsupported statements, though I could be wrong in my assessment. The options seem to be to ban him or ignore him. I find I am against banning these days, so ignoring him seems the alternative. Besides, some people seem to like or are just not bothered by his negative commentary, and some are women. Not that that excuses rude and mean-spirited posting from my point of view. I can certainly understand why some people would grow tired of it and move on. Me, I'll stick around.  Wink

I do not like gays any more...I once had a lot of gay friends that worked for me, and now they have joined these liberal factions. They are letting people use them, with threats. The gays I once knew kept things to themselves and did not impose upon others. I could tolerate that, but not now...they have become political and I do not think they should be spreading this silly attitude to our children via their outlets in the media, hollywood and advertising. It is just not right. Sorry, but that's just the way I feel and I respect others for different takes, but I for one think it is wrong.

Wow, another whopper from Orion! Ok, why not? Gay issues is great topic for discussion since it's so TABOO!!! At least among straits. But, since this topic is about the September 11th disaster and possible cover-up, we should move such happy/gay discussion to another thread.

Orion, would you care to start up another topic on this subject in the General forum? I have some strong opinions on the matter and will be willing to 'air' them there.

All others, please hold off a response (unless it's about this topic title) until Orion's reply or start up a topic of your own if you can't wait.

The same applies to other discussion unrelated to the topic. I know, I've been guilty of deviating  Huh from the topic too, but we're robbing others of a chance to comment if they don't read this topic.

Thanks,

~Blackstone

Ish said the word gay...what is your problem? Are you being typically Liberal and trying to position someone else as so many do? I am sorry for getting away from your topic. Please disregard mine.

Nope, just trying to do my part and guide topics back on topic, even if belatedly. If you, Ishtar, or anyone else wants to start a Gay issues topic in the General & Misc. forum, I'll be happy to post away there. I've been remiss, just realized it, and yours is the most recent post before mine. You're right though and I shouldn't have appeared to single you out. Sorry about that.

I am so tired of the Gay agenda, that I have no desire to even address it anywhere. They can go back in the closet for all I care, I just do not like it being used politically. I am more concerned for the children growing up with such an influence being hyped at every turn. It is not healthy.
