THANE: Two ancient temples were recently discovered by villagers in Gunj village of Wada taluka in Thane district.

However, the period to which these temples belong is yet to be known.

It was during a visit to Parshuram temple on a nearby hillock that some villagers stumbled upon these two abandoned and ruined temples.

Talking to this correspondent here, Om Prakash Sharma, who has undertaken the task of renovating the Parshuram temple, said he was on his way up the hills when he came to know about two ruined temples.

One of the two temples discovered is that of Lord Shiva while the other is yet to be identified.

Villagers have demanded that the state government should come forward, carry out the necessary repairs, and restore the pristine glory of these temples so that they can be preserved for the future.
