Atlantis Illustrated/H.R. Stahl

I don't know how many people have this out of print book, but the author illustrates, in pen and ink fashion, just how Atlantis would have looked like according to Plato's dialogues. You can see just how big the buildings, the plain, the island itself would have been according to the dimensions that Plato describes (elephants are dwarfed by their surroundings, for instance).
It's a nice reference book for those of us still a little fuzzy on just how big a "stade" was.

Like many authors of this period, the author favors Santorini as the site for Atlantis, but faithfully reproduces the much bigger, more ancient Atlantis portrayed in the modern translations. The one drawback: everything is in black and white, no color.

I didn't see them on the Internet either, Crazy Legs, but they do have a lot of pretty cheap copies available at Amazon.com, if you're willing to take a chance!

If I would like to have it reprinted  and colored  you should hire a colorist, talking about different shades is one thing but coloring is another.

Here is a great thread, filled with color illustrations of Atlantis, though not exactly fitting Plato's descriptions:

This is more like PHANTASY !
ATLANTIS is the subject of some 30 years old Comic books;
The belgian Author ...I Cry  Cry  Cry  forget.................. of the Dutch/ belgian-Comicbook Stripseries
" Blake & Mortimer

has also issued a" Journey to the survivors Atlantis" in s.America.by;  Edgar T. Jacobs,
but he has also made a Story of a Time-journey into the Future of Atlantis.

Disney Studio's have made a Comicbook variant on the Eirland Claim the ICE-land claim
But ignores that it is a Faked latin translation of " LAND  of  AD"

Non of the Illustrators have pictured those infamous" Horse-Shoe" Mountains that Plunged at a straight angle

There are Two DVD's about Atlantis One GAME & one Disneyfilm situating " Atlantis" in Mexico.

Alas They have not been aware that Atlantis is the Latin translation of the original THETA- Land
Theta Land borders ofcourse the THETYS- Sea wich according to all Paleontoliogist + marine Scientists is
the INDIAN- Ocean.
