Rudbeck was amazing wasn't he? I am half through. The Bock family history was secret from about 1050 til the mid 1980s, so what he unearthed on the past of Scandinavia, carefully squashed by the Roman Church, was amazing, but still far less than he might have known.

That book is awesome. I think David King did a great job. He really did not present
him as unstable, just "obsessed". But then, look at all the other so-called geniuses(?)
Michelangelo did not take his boots off for the four years he painted the Sistine
Chapel (can you imagine the stink?). He was convinced that the marble he worked
on was alive and had a soul. And a slew of other stuff. All you have to do is read
"The Agony and the Ecstasy". Leonardo was really 'out there' too.........
In the end, they had to cut Michelangelo's boots off his feet and legs, or so the
"legend' goes.......
I personally expect a genius to be, ahem, 'different', or he wouldn't be a genius.
I found Rudbeck totally endearing and a man after my own heart. What passion!!!

Reading this book has kind of "jelled" for me a theory on Atlantis that I have been
ruminating over for a while now. You know how Olof laboured over the measure-
ments of the Old Upsala sites, right? And they ALL matched the measuraments
given by Plato, correct? Well, others have found the same in other sites. If it is
correct that Atlantis founded colonies around the world, then it would make sense
that whatever cities they founded, would be modeled upon their very own, no?
That's exactly what Rome did in the days of the Pax Romana. Why not copy some-
thing that works? Makes sense to me.
Anyway, I am so glad you are back. I will have to get to the Bock Saga one of these
days, seriously. Actually, though, I am interested in the Saamis. I have no info on
them, just a 'gut' feeling.

I'm not back, I'm in San Francisco at an old friend's place....away from home till next Saturday night.
Something else for you to ruminate on, re the matching measurements. There is another set of matching measurements that has been under our noses all these years, which never occured to me until Boreas pointed it out. That is the dimention/proportion of the Parthenon and all similar temples from antiquity...all over The Med, Asia Minor and No. Africa (and elsewhere). Turns out it copies the EXACT shape and proportion of wooden buildings of Scandinavia, pre-dating any of the ones made of stone in the south.
This probably also relates to Bjastemon (?sp) north of Stockholm, an archaeological dig site of a large city of wood buildings with definate avenues and neighborhoods of various guild's operations. This city site has bbeen definately dated to 1000 to 1500 years BEFORE Greece and Rome!
The extreme antiquity of the far north has been difficult to ascertain in the past ... I think until recent new archaeological methods sensitive enough to discover disintegrated wooden structures. Wood being the most plentiful building material, there is scant obvious evidence if cities and towns that are REALLY old. In the south this was not the case at all, so stone, clay, adobe etc. was used and left ample evidence to the casual observer.
Also there are the statements that the ice-sheet broke up and slid into the surrounding oceans 10,000 years ago, scraping all evidence of human habitation away, down to the bedrock, across Scandinavia excepting what was inside caves. This would tend to give a false reading on the presence of humans there, don't you think? The Wolf Cave in southern Finland has revealed habitation to 120,000 years so far and the dig is ongoing. Some estimate it will show to be more than twice older than that. Some say that it was not for habitation but a center for gathering. At any rate it proves the ongoing presence of humanity there during ice-time.
Ior Bock told that the most important building of stone (Valhalla?) was dismantled by the Papal army in the deep winter of the decimation of the "heathen" royal system in about 1050. They carried all the massive stone pieces out on to the ice of the Bay of Finland, so in the spring thaw it all slid into the deep. Now it is only a myth, as planned by the roman church, and no one believes it ever existed. That building was there since not long after the end of Ice-time 10,000 years ago. Maybe that was the sinking of Alt-land-is under the waves in "a day and a night", after the fires of the Papal army burning everything else in Hel. There was only one known eye-witness whos story was recorded in the Icelandic Eddas. Forever after the name "Hel" was twisted by the church.
Re the Saami, they migrated to northern Scandinavia from further east as far as I can determine.

ALTHOUGH ANYONE AROUND THE MEDITERRANEAN BASIN, NEAR EAST AND EUROPE MAY CLAIM ATLANTEAN ANCESTRY, WE MAY POSITIVELY IDENTIFY SOME GROUPS OF PEOPLE AS MORE PURE DUE TO NATURAL BOUNDARY ISOLATION WHICH LASTED FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS. SINCE THE DEMISE OF ATLANTIS, MANY MIGRATIONS OF PEOPLES TOOK PLACE. CIVILIZATIONS FLOURISHED AND VANISHED LEAVING BEHIND ONLY A FEW HEWN STONES AS TESTIMONY OF THEIR EXISTENCE. ONLY A FEW FRAGMENTED HISTORICAL RECORDS ARE AVAILABLE TO US TODAY BUT SOME DAY THEY MAY SHED SOME LIGHT AS TO WHAT MAY HAVE HAPPENED IN EONS PAST.
IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH THE MOST PURE DESCENDANTS OF THE ATLANTEANS, WE FIRST MUST EXAMINE THE AREAS WHERE THE ATLANTEANS EVENTUALLY FOUND REFUGE, AND SETTLED DOWN. THEN DETERMINE HOW MUCH THESE AREAS HAVE BEEN EFFECTED BY SUBSEQUENT MIGRATIONS OF PEOPLES OF NON-ATLANTEAN ORIGIN. (IT WOULD BE COMPLETELY UNJUSTIFIED AND BIASED TO STATE THAT OTHER GROUPS OF PEOPLE AROUND ATLANTIS WERE PHYSICALLY OR INTELLECTUALLY INFERIOR).
IN THE PAST, BORDERS WERE USUALLY DETERMINED BY NATURAL BOUNDARIES SUCH AS RIVERS, MOUNTAIN RANGES, AND OCEANS. A MOUNTAIN PASS CAN BE DEFENDED BY ONLY A FEW DEDICATED PEOPLE WHO HAVE A REASON TO PREVENT OTHERS FROM CROSSING OR ENCROACHING ON THEIR TERRITORY. A SEA SUCH AS THE MEDITERRANEAN CANNOT BE CONSIDERED A GOOD NATURAL BOUNDARY, BUT RATHER MEANS FOR EASY ACCESS TO MIGRATIONS. PEOPLE CLOSE TO THE SEA DID NOT ALWAYS SUCCEED IN DEFENDING THEIR TERRITORY AGAINST INVADERS. EVEN LARGE ISLANDS THAT COULD AFFORD A SIZABLE ARMY AND NAVY EVENTUALLY WERE SUBDUED AND OCCUPIED BY INVADERS. AND, AS IN OUR OWN "MODERN CIVILIZATION" , MOST OF THE ORIGINAL POPULATION WAS EITHER EXTERMINATED, ASSIMILATED, OR REPLACED BY THE NEWCOMERS.
THE SAME THING CANNOT BE SAID FOR THE ATLANTIC OCEAN. ONLY A FEW MARINERS VENTURED OUT IN THE ATLANTIC THROUGH THE PILLARS OF HERACLES AND ONLY FAR ENOUGH AS TO NOT LOSE SIGHT OF LAND. THEREFORE ONE MAY SAY FOR SURE THAT NORTHERN EUROPE DID NOT EXPERIENCE ANY INVADERS FROM THE WEST WHATSOEVER.
OTHER NATURAL BOUNDARIES OF NORTHERN EUROPE ARE THE VAST EXPANSES OF THE STEPPES, THE SIBERIAN COLD AND THE FEW MOUNTAIN RANGES TO THE SOUTHEAST. AGAIN ONE MIGHT SAY THAT NORTHERN EUROPE DID NOT EXPERIENCE ANY MIGRATIONS FROM THE EAST AS WELL. THE FEW ISOLATED ESKIMO GROUPS, LIVING TO THE NORTH HAD NO MEANS OR ANY REASON TO BE IN CONTACT WITH THEIR NEIGHBORS TO THE SOUTH. ANY LATER MIGRATIONS FROM THE SOUTHEAST MUST HAVE BEEN REPELLED BY THE NORTHERN EUROPEANS WHO THUS SUCCEEDED IN DEFENDING THEIR TERRITORIES.
APPARENTLY THEY PROTECTED EACH OF THEIR TERRITORIES LIKE THE NORTH AMERICAN INDIAN TRIBES DID JUST BEFORE THE WHITE MAN OVERTURNED THEIR WORLD WITH HIS ARRIVAL ON THE NEW CONTINENT. THE ROMANS TRIED BUT DID NOT SUCCEED IN OCCUPYING ALL OF NORTHERN EUROPE DURING HISTORIC TIMES. SOME AREAS OF NORTHERN EUROPE REMAINED ISOLATED TO SOME EXTENT UNTIL RECENTLY.
BEING ISOLATED FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN THAT A PEOPLE'S WAY OF LIFE , NEEDS, PHYSICAL APPEARANCE AND INTELLECT CHANGES MUCH THROUGH THE EONS.
WRITING WAS PROBABLY LIMITED AND USED BY A FEW PRIVILEGED PEOPLE. THE SPOKEN WORD WAS MODIFIED AND ALTERED OVER TIME.
AS IT HAS BEEN PREVIOUSLY STATED, THERE ARE MANY SIMILARITIES BETWEEN THE EUROPEAN LANGUAGES POINTING TO A COMMON AND ATLANTEAN ORIGIN. OTHER NON-EUROPEAN LANGUAGES BEAR SIMILARITIES AS WELL WHICH INDICATES THAT BEFORE ATLANTIS VANISHED, MANY ATLANTEANS MAY HAVE SETTLED ELSEWHERE.
ONE HAS TO CAREFULLY EXAMINE SIMILARITIES BETWEEN ANCIENT WORDS WITH ROOTS TO THE ATLANTEAN POINT OF ORIGIN AND THE ONES SPOKEN BY THE NORTHERN EUROPEANS, ESPECIALLY THOSE NOT INFLUENCED BY THE ARRIVAL OF THE ROMANS.
ONE SHOULD ALSO EXAMINE THE SIMILARITIES OF DEEDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE NORTHERN EUROPEANS TO THE ONES OF THE ATLANTEANS DESCRIBED BY CRITIAS.
"ALTHOUGH THROUGH THE EONS THEIR DIVINE PORTION HAS BEEN DILUTED TOO MANY TIMES" AS CRITIAS STOICALLY INDICATES, THE NORTHERN EUROPEANS OF TODAY ARE THE MOST PURE DESCENDANTS OF POSEIDON'S CHILDREN.
