Don't worry, Bluducky, feel free to "pick on me" as much as you wish. If you are taking the "UFO" side of the argument, you'll need to muster whatever weapons you can find, and I understand that.

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Many abductees come home with crazy tales of what they have seen, and, sometimes, it just may be plausible.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That was your most revealing line, you could have stopped right there, "crazy" is right.

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How can a lay person with no knowledge of anything technical all of a sudden tell of implosion based technology which can hurtle a ship through space at the speed of light?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And how often has this ever happened? Where are the technical details regarding such a revealing discovery? More to the point, has science ever come up with any new technology in regards to any of these abuduction tales? Or anything resembling what we are working on now? I think not.

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Physical proof should be the last thing you should think about at the moment, as you can plainly see that it is lacking. Therefore, deal with what IS available.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Which isn't much. I have a deal for you, Jennie, and Via since you all seem to be interested in such things. Each of you produce what you believe is the best evidence of U.F.O.s (extraterrestial contact  ), the very best, and let's see how it stands up to scrutiny. I'm betting it won't be much.

Via Mars,

Education is the best provision for old age.
Aristotle, from Diogenes Laertius, Lives of Eminent Philosophers

Plato was a vain old man who was constantly looking for ways to be remembered throughout history.

(But at least he didn't believe in U.F.O.'s  )  Wink

Don't even get me started on the Atlantis tale. He who created it also destroyed it.

ari - i have provided several links to ufos. i'll grant that mine start with the word unorthodox, though.
i believe that clearly draws the line.
as for creatures not of this world, yes i believe they have visited and possibly may have influenced history to some degree, but might not have been back in hundreds, if not thousands of years.
i too, await proof while dallying in speculation.

Okay, so I never really have had any real encounters with aliens. My boyfriend and I were out camping in the woods one summer ago, though, and we did have see some strange lights coming from within the trees - big lights, like something huge was deep inside there that was just radiating this weird light. We were too scared to investigate so that's all we saw. I know it wasn't another truck or anything, this light was huge.
I've also dreamed about the grays. In my dreams, everything is blurry and I'm strapped on a table and the weird gray guys want to do all these strange things to me. They're talking, it's not English, but for some odd reason, I can understand every word that they're saying. Nothing does happen to me, each time I wake up before it's about to begin, but in the dream I'm very scared and they are very threatening. I've had the dream at least two or three times. It's sort of drawn me to get interested in things like this, so I've been reading up on them lately.

Your dreams sound like they are derivative of any number of Hollywood movies, or one of the episodes of the X-Files. Jean, 99% of what scares comes from our imagination, the rest the tiny 1% leftover, comes from the craziness of our fellow man. The same mind that imagines it sees U.F.O.s might also be delusional enough to commit bloody atrocities.

C'mon, give her a break, man, she's a new member. You want to drive everybody away..?
Jean, pay no attention to Aristotle, he seems to lead a pretty dull life (and seems to want it that way), and won't be happy unless he tries to make sure that everyone else leads one, too.

Speaking for me, at least, I would love to hear more about your dreams and experiences. They sound like classic alien encounters.

Don't pay attention to Aritoddle, Jean 1984, some people are born not only stupid, but biased and crabby.

Isn't Spock's name "Leonard NEMOY? not Mcoy? Zodiac?
Welcome to the good ship AR Jean, excepting Aristotle's initial post to you, I hope you enjoy it here

Aristotle, as a change of pace, I'd like to answer you with as much thought as you afford me in YOUR replies.

Go and find your own proof to negate. there are numerous accounts, just pick one that someone thinks is sincere (ie, the abductee), and 'proofread it' for authenticity.

Wait. .that was a bit too detailed..

Take a gander at Mars' evidence before you rule anything out, as, as he eloquently states, "there are some that we can see, and others we can't. The ones we can see, are more than likely the product of our own ingenuity, but the ones we can't see, are truly an enigma -- maybe THOSE ones are piloted by aliens."(something to that effect) (Sorry for the misquote, Mars)

(as an example of courtesy, notice that I always put others' names in bold type so they can see what is being said about/addressed to them? I have noticed too many names without bold in hidden places within various posts, and I know I personally don't want to a 'victim' of a "sneak assault". So as as a gentle request: If the name ain't out in the open, please make it stand out  Thanks guys, you're the best )

Thank you for welcoming me on board, Bluducky. No, people like Aristotle aren't going to scare me off, there's always someone like him on these Internet forums (usually more than one, too).
Well, this did happen to me, I'm not kidding about it. There was this blinding white light come from within the forest (I kid you not), and it lasted for several minutes, then was just...gone...

As for the dreams, well, they were pretty frequent for about six months after that and I still have them sometimes.

Unlike Jennie, I'm not even that interested in aliens cept to try and figure out what exactly happened to me (and maybe continues to happen).
