Tom, it's irrelevant that South America is far away from the Med, point is, there is proof that there were contacts. Forget for a moment that Plato mentions that Atlantis sank. In all this world, where does the geography so match his descriptions? South America. It is lush, tropical, filled with great rivers, mountains and valleys. Certainly, it has two growing seasons and is, for the most part, sheltered from the northern winds.

There is a large continent in the Atlantic, larger than Libya and Asia combined, people just refuse to see it, mostly, I believe, out of a cultural bias.
