I do not think that in Atlantis people adored to Belial, because he was a demon:

On the contrary, I think that there a religion very similar to the Judaism practiced, since there are many forms described by Plato who corresponds to that religion.

1. To have the law (Tora) in the centre of the religious activity.

2. The ritual sacrifice of a bull.

3. The form to purify the altar with the blood of that animal.

4. To take the first fruits to temple (shavuot)
 
5. In becoming involved in the mantles to say (talit)

6.  The form of architectonic organization

All of this should be viewed as coming long AFTER the time of "Atlantis"..

All the names stemming from Bal or Bel are from the far more ancient Bock saga time of PA RA DIS ET or "paradise time" and were PERVERTED in the later languages of the Mediterranean region esp. Judaism who looked upon the religion of the uncircumsised naked (bar-bar) people of the heaths (heathens) as evil...even taking the name of their city Hel as the ultimate place of torment, hell.  Wicked and worthless were they...?  They did not make war or keep slaves... but they had a terrible habit...equality between the sexes.
