Mods,

I have been having an awful time in the last couple of days by the ads of CIRCUIT CITY  and
FIREDOG not only spamming my posts, but they are also making it very hard to get them out
of the way.  This evening the situation is particularly 'ferocious'......

I am at present copying a very extensive overview of the Renaissance (no great fun, ah!) and
this is getting beyond annoying.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you,
b
very annoying and a waste of time.

Hey Bianca!

That sounds like the pits!  Unfortunately, we don't have anything to do with the ads here, though, and can't control them.  The owner of the site sells ad space to lots of companies.  If we DID have something to do with them, the first thing I'd do is get all those pro-McCain/anti-Obama ads off of there!

I thought so, but I was getting very frustrated last night.  No harm in asking.....

I guess I'll try at a later time and hope for the best.

After all, this wonderful site is not costing us and we have unlimited space, with PICTURES, to boot!!!

THANKS, Brooke!!

Hugs,
b

Hi Folks,

I just read where Circuit City has filed for bankruptcy under Chap. 11.  Maybe we won't have to look at their obnoxious in-your-face ads anymore!   Cheesy

I agree, Tom, the ad IS obnoxious. However, sad to see so many people out of work and their stores closing.  One day the economy will come back, I hope.

Peace,

Veronica

Hi Veronica,

Yes, it is sad.  I think Ford was the one who told us we've got to "bite the bullet."  These things always go in cycles, but this one was made much worse due to failed policies of the current administration.

You guys need to watch the Money Masters on Google video, sheesh I posted it enough.

Recessions to economies is what loosing 4 pints of blood would be to a human being.  If the Federal Reserve would stop with the adjustable rate loans and demanding everything be paid back by all sectors of society all at one time recessions would be near non-existent.

Hey Bianca!  What kind of problems are you talking about?  Did you get an error message, and, if so, what was it?

No, just could not make the connection.  It happens often to me logging on to AO,
but usually it's not as long as today.

All other destinations were fine.

I am still having the same problems as above.  Very tough when I am in the middle of
a posting.

Tonight I've been trying since about 7PM (eastern)

I can access any other site with no problems whatsoever.

Then a box appears asking to search for problems.  It comes back every time: "no problems".....
Then I am asked to report it and that seems to be the end of it.  It has improved nothing.....

Any idea why?

Hey Bianca,

I just did a check on the main support forum and it looks like it was a problem with the server (which has been acting up all month).  Apparently, it is fixed right now.

Thank you, Brooke!

I just wanted to make sure before I called Dell and made  a fool of myself - again - for
pushing the panic button due to my lack of 'techie savvy'....

I'm not one to be involved in these things anymore but.........
Do we really need unions?
