Sounds interesting, I'd like one, do you remember how much it cost?

***Hi Chronos. . . $99. I was very lucky. . . in the right place at the right time! it was a clearing sale for new models and only for a few days. its lightyears ahead of my previous mobiles! i was really amazed at all the options available. It was a Gift from the Gods to assist in my research during my travels.   D*D*D*D

DDn, when you hit "reply," do you get a list of buttons/icons?

Last night forum server 2 went down for a few hours, thus making forum visits impossible. Technical difficulties happen with every forum, most of the time unforeseen, so that is nothing new.  I'd like to stress that the help and support we get from the owner of this forum is terrific.  There are problems, but they are usually solved quickly.

However, since we are primarily a research oriented forum, we decided it best to have a "back-up plan," so as there is less chance that the research we are doing here will be lost.

Therefore, we have decided to open up a second, back-up forum on server three, with all the same categories that this one has, and, eventually, many of the important research-oriented posts copied and moved over there as well.  This forum will also serve as a place to go if or when this one goes around again, with much of the work we have already done moved over there for us to continue doing working on it.

This one will still serve as the main forum, as I said, the other one will serve as simply a "back-up plan," a place to go should we have another emergency.

It is a big job creating a forum, so it will be a bit before we will be ready to give out the web address to everyone.  Everyone who is an active member over here will be invited over there as well.

Rather than ask everyone to re-register again, we'll simply move the membership list over there and tell everyone when it's ready. Of course, you can change your password to anything you like once you get it.

People will be welcome to post in either forum, of course, but, just to reiterate, while this one will still be our main forum, the other forum will serve as only sort of insurance policy.

All the best,

Europa

Europa,

"Dummy" here wants to know if this forum will stay the same,
or do we have to go there if we want to refer to a past part.

In other words, will the new one be just a DUPLICATE?

Thank you,
B

This forum will stay the same, Bianca, with the exception of maybe changing the colors.  The other forum will simply be a duplicate with some of our research stored there - your own work on Atlantis, for instance and the research of others, as well as Unknown's artwork and writing, other things.  It should be seen as a "back-up," a place that others know they can go if this forum is having technical problems.

I don't imagine that to be often, but it is nice to have a back-up plan, on a different server.

That's a great idea.  Thanks for explaining it to me.

No problem, and you are hardly a "dummy."  They were all good questions.

Europa,

Since I came back from my "enforced" vacation, I have noticed that
when I am typing something for a long time and leave my keyboard
for even five minutes, when I come back, I find myself totally "off-
line".

At first I thought it was my new computer, but I found that when I
left any other site (on purpose) the same way, that did not happen.

Today I started a new posting and it is happening all over again.

Any opinion?

Hi Bianca,

The "cookies" in your browser expire after about an hour if you log in at the top of the page.

If you log in at the bottom of the page, Brooke fixed it so they don't expire for two hours (you'll notice that it says 120 minutes).

Hope that helps.

Thank you, Chronos,

I'll try that.

By the way, I was able to vote on Europa's poll this morning.  It must
have been my old computer's fault that I couldn't before that.
We'll see how it goes.

Love and peace,
B
