The exaggerated 9000 years of Atlantis, by leon elshout

In Critias 108, Plato wrote about the 9000 years earlier when Atlantis sunk into the sea due to a huge earthquake. I believe this is the earthquake in Revelation 16:18 that destroys Babylon. But this is not the point that I want to make now. What did Plato mean with 9000 years earlier? Was it exactly 9000 years or 8999 years or 90001 or 9010 years before Plato told the story. In a Biblical sense, even Adam was not created by then. And in the world of the first and second aions there were no islands. The earth was one vast land mass. If we go back in time so far back as 9000 years before Plato we have to deal with the system of the aions that are hidden in de the Bible. Plato did not mention these aions. And Athens did not exist 9000 years before Plato.

I believe that those 9000 years back in time were simply an exaggeration, to make the Atlantis story more impressive. Plato was simply bowing for the Egyptian chronology of the Kings Lists that was exaggerated too. The LXX Septuagint was edited in Alexandria and was also bowed for the Egyptian chronology. The Septuagint counted always 100 years more to the ages of the Arch Fathers than the Hebrew Bible. Bible students should always use the Hebrew Bible, not the Septuagint if it comes to chronology. In Luke 3:36 was referred to the LXX, but this does not mean that the LXX has more authority than the Herew Masoretic Translation. Even the apostle Paul cited from the Greek poet Arete, which does not mean that all the works of Arete were inserted into the holy scripture.

Conclusion: If Plato was wrong about both the 9000 years back in time when Atlantis existed anbd about the Strait of Gibraltar was was NOT blocked in contrary to what he had written in Timaios 25, then the whole Atlantis Story could be shifted to the opposite direction as seen from Jerusalem. Plato's perspective was from Athens while the apostle John wrote the Book of Revelation from a Jerusalem perspective.
