It's 'social distance sasquatch'... Image Credit: Facebook / Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area
A large hairy humanoid sighted in the Turkey Mountain area has turned out to be a man wearing a costume.
Sightings of the mysterious cryptid came to light back in March when several visitors to the Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area described what they had seen on the area's official Facebook page.

"Over the weekend, we received dozens of calls and messages reporting a 'sighting' at Turkey," an official post read. "While we investigate the matter, this seems like a good time for us to remind you that social distancing of 6ft is required when at Turkey Mountain."

The wilderness, which covers a 300-acre area of undeveloped land in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has proven a popular destination for those looking to take a break from the monotony of isolating at home.

Now it turns out that people really did see a Bigfoot while walking through the area - well, sort of.The hairy hominid was actually Ryan Howell - a River Parks employee who had been involved in creating a viral campaign designed to inform people to stay at a safe distance while exercising.

"We came out here and staged several sighting photos, and from there it exploded, it absolutely exploded," he said. "It turns out social distance sasquatch is just me in a costume."

"Turkey mountain is not a place to meet your friends and go for a hike not right now."
