On March 12th, my dog Athena died after a year long battle with cancer. Athena was born on 07/12/2009, with her brother Robbie. I don't know much about her early life other than she was left behind with her brother in a house in Portage while the family that took care of them apparently moved away.  I adopted both her and her brother in July of 2016, at the time I was still mourning Cookie and my beloved Candy was about to die. I fell in love with that little girl upon first sight and tried to give her a good home. It was great for a few years, for the most part, Athena got along with the others in the brood and was happy to have a nice home.  She looked a lot like Cookie, though she also had her own identity.

And then, a year ago, disaster struck in the form of a tumor the size of a golf ball on her shoulder. The vet removed it, but gradually the tumor went into her lungs, eventually taking her life on the twelfth, my eulogy belated by the health crisis that set over the world shortly afterwards.

Well, Athena, you are with your brother Robbie again, and I hope that the afterlife gives the two of you more peace and bliss than this world ever did. I miss all of you a great deal, hope to see all of my little guys and girls again
