According to this, my state has a $7.44 billion surplus, which is odd, considering as how it has made national news that it is ninety days overdue in figuring out it's new budget (making certain that the shortfall will be passed onto homeowners in their tax bills and layoffs of state employees and services!).

How do you know it the figures are right, though?

By the way, if you stuck this in General & Misc., people would have seen it earlier.  Some of us are bored by politics.
