Watch the Full ‘Twas the Mad Titan Thanos’ Reading With the Avengers Cast
Yesterday, we posted a news story about a fake children’s book based on Avengers: Infinity War. Titled ‘Twas the Mad Titan Thanos, it breaks down the bleak events from that film in storybook form. Now, the full four minute segment is available online.

The skit originally aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, as part of a kick-off for an Avengers: Endgame week-long event. In it, various stars, including Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner and Scarlett Johansson, take turns reading. You can view the whole video below.

It begins with an opening by Kimmel explaining how the dramatic nature of Infinity War affected fans, especially young ones. “While children love super heroes, I’m not so sure how they feel about intergalactic genocide,” he explains. So, “to get the kids back,” Kimmel and his team put the ‘Twas the Mad Titan Thanos book together. And then he enlisted the heroes themselves to read it.

Mark Ruffalo serves as the “host” for the reading, with the others joining in. It also features images from the book alongside the readers, so you can follow along.

Its worth noting that the actors have some fun with the reading. They even add side comments, with Ruffalo calling Thanos “a naughty boy.” Johannson also pokes a little fun at Thor when he didn’t go “for the head” when he had the chance. “He blew it,” she jokes.

There’s also another video with the Avengers: Endgame cast, in which they talk about various topics. These include matching tattoos, their favorite character lines and, surprise, birthday gifts!

Avengers: Endgame arrives in theaters on April 26. What do you think of ‘Twas the Mad Titan Thanos? Let us know in the comments below!

Mark Ruffalo Says Avengers: Endgame Filmed Multiple Endings
JAKE ABBATETUESDAY, APRIL 09, 2019

Mark Ruffalo Says Avengers: Endgame Filmed Multiple Endings
It’s a well-known fact that Marvel Studios likes to keep moviegoers in the dark for as long as possible. But in the case of Avengers: Endgame, the studio has been kicking their secrecy machine into overdrive. As it turns out, not even the film’s sizeable cast could be trusted not to spill the beans. In an interview with E! News (via /Film), Mark Ruffalo explained the lengths that Marvel went to in order to keep all of Endgame’s plot details under wraps.

“I shot, like, five different endings to this movie,” said Ruffalo. Apparently, this was no easy feat. “I didn’t even get a whole script of this movie. I don’t know why. The script I did get had dummy scenes in it. He [pointing to Chris Evans] gets married in this!”

Honestly, it’s not surprising that Ruffalo in particular wouldn’t get to see Endgame’s finalized script prior to shooting. Whether casually dropping spoilers during press junkets or accidentally live-streaming the premiere of Thor: Ragnarok, Ruffalo has a reputation for divulging too much information. To his credit, Ruffalo is not as bad as Tom Holland. While plugging Endgame in India last week, co-director Joe Russo shared that Holland “gets his lines and that’s all he gets.” However, even that isn’t enough of a safeguard. Russo added that Holland “doesn’t even know who he’s acting opposite” before filming a scene.

Additionally, /Film pointed to another interview between both Russo brothers and Collider. Despite Ruffalo’s revelation about multiple endings being filmed, the directors knew how the upcoming installment would conclude from the get-go.

“When we were working on both Infinity War and Endgame, the first thing we did was break the ending of Endgame,” said Joe Russo. “Because we wanted to know where we were going. It’s very hard to tell a story if you don’t know where you’re going. So we have a very specific process with [the writers] where we spent months in a room just talking about a three-page outline. Literally, page one is act one, page two is act two, page three is act three.”

“Because you have to know in a contained document like that, ‘Here’s where we start, here’s what happens in the middle, here’s where it ends,’” continued Russo. “If you know that, it’s a lot easier to get to script. A more malleable format to work in a short outline like that, spend your time talking about it and thinking it through. We knew fairly early on how this was gonna end.”

What do you make of Marvel’s decision to film more than one ending for Avengers: Endgame? Can you still trust the film’s marketing campaign after this? Let us know in the comment section below

Kevin Feige Opens Up About The White Costumes In Avengers: Endgame

Kevin Feige Opens Up About The White Costumes In Avengers: Endgame
One of the most intriguing things about the upcoming Avengers: Endgame are those matching white costumes the Avengers are wearing. Even tough they were teased by several leaked promo art and toys, the suits were officially shown off in the trailers for the film. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed to io9 that the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes wear them mainly for a “big differentiating factor”.

“We call them the team suits,” Feige said. “And we early on decided [revealing them] was a big differentiating factor between [Endgame] and the other films. The Avengers have never had matching outfits before, [so] we thought it was a very intriguing image to see something that made this film feel new.”

Furthermore Feige explained that the purpose of the team suits is to make sure people know Endgame is more than just a sequel. He then mentioned also three characters that weren’t in Infinity War: Hawkeye, Captain Marvel and Scott Lang.

“[We had to] make it feel more than just Infinity War II. Because it’s not,” he added. “Those team suits add something fresh to it. As does Hawkeye, as does Captain Marvel. As does Scott Lang.”

Avengers: Endgame Promo Has Team Preparing For ‘Missions’

Avengers: Endgame Promo Has Team Preparing For ‘Missions’
The countdown is on, as we’re now just about two weeks away from the premiere of Avengers: Endgame. And the stakes couldn’t be higher, as the team prepares to do “whatever it takes” to stop Thanos’ devastation. A new promo trailer released by Marvel Entertainment gives us an idea of just what they have in mind.

The trailer follows a clip that came out earlier this week, featuring the remaining Avengers putting together a plan to reclaim the Infinity Stones. Seen below, the trailer features snippets previously revealed in other trailers, like Iron Man flying over New York and War Machine and Ant-Man gearing up for battle.

But there’s some new footage as well, with the heroes wearing those white suits as Captain America gives them a speech. They seem rather impressed by it, with glances of confidence from Black Widow and Tony Stark. Even Rocket Raccoon, the Guardian of the Galaxy who’s not exactly keen on human beings, likes what he has to say. Ant-Man is quick to agree with him, too.

There’s not too much here that crosses over into spoiler territory. However, Cap does make note of “teams” and “missions.” This indicates that his plan may involve a “divide and conquer” strategy. That might explain why Captain Marvel isn’t with the rest of the team, though she does appear with Thor. With the story still tightly under wraps, it’s too soon to predict just what Steve Rogers has in mind.

The trailer has some strong social media buzz going already, with some fans making note of the Rocket Raccoon/Ant-Man interaction. Who knows, they just might become the best of buddies. You can see a couple of those responses below.

New Avengers: Endgame Poster Is a Blast From the Past
ROBERT WORKMANWEDNESDAY, APRIL 17, 2019

New Avengers Endgame Poster Is a Blast From the Past
We’re just over one week away from the premiere of Avengers: Endgame. As it gets closer to release, Marvel’s latest ads are taking a look back at what led to this moment in the series. Even the most recent trailer did that. Now there’s a poster that literally reflects on the past of three of Earth’s mightiest heroes.

In the poster, which you can see below, we get a good look at three of the Avengers that will challenge Thanos in Endgame. Beginning on the left, we have Thor. In his current mold, he holds his Stormbreaker, sporting a short haircut and slick battle outfit. But from his reflection, you can see his cocky 2011 self, who still wields Mjolnir and has longer hair.

Next up is Captain America in the center. He goes through the most stunning changes of the three. In his current mold, you can see him standing boldly with shield in hand, wearing his classic America uniform. But in his reflection, you see him as a much smaller soldier. That’s Steve Rogers as he appeared in Captain America: The First Avenger.

Finally, there’s Iron Man on the right. Tony Stark’s been through one hell of a journey. And it all began with a clumsy yet powerful suit that he built in the original Iron Man way back in 2008. While being held prisoner, Stark worked alongside a fellow scientist to put the suit together. Since escaping his captors, Stark has built more and more sophisticated suits. You can see the difference in his reflection.

Fans can see how this conclusive chapter of the saga plays out when Avengers: Endgame opens in theaters on April 26. What do you hope to see from this long-awaited sequel? Let us know in the comment section below!

Robert Downey Jr. Says Avengers: Endgame’s Final Minutes Are Its Best

Robert Downey Jr. Says Avengers: Endgame’s Final Minutes Are Its Best
Avengers: Endgame is one week away theaters and fans have been doing their best to avoid spoilers. Regardless, Robert Downey Jr. has teased that the final minutes of Endgame may be everything fans are hoping for.

“The last eight minutes of that movie are maybe the best eight minutes of the entire history of the whole run of them in a way because everyone’s involved,” said Downey while speaking with The Upcoming. “So I was delighted.”

During the interview, Downey also offered some perspective on Stark.

“He’s recognizing that he should have his eyes on the long game here, so I guess there’s a different set of principles that he is operating by then he has before and I think a lot of that has been the burgeoning effect of all of these other Avengers and seeing how much they’ve put on the line.”

Finally, Downey shared his thoughts on why the Marvel movies have become so popular.

“It was all there in the universe to begin with, and that’s why I think the Marvel comics have been so numinous to kids and grownups and people,” noted Downey. “There’s this love for it because it speaks to the world but it also speaks to the democratic American projected dream, which is far more complicated than that. But there’s an ideal there that’s always been trying to express itself, and strangely, in some ways the best of it has been expressed in these little two-hour segments of entertainment.”

You can check out the full interview below. He also provides a lot of praise to directors Anthony and Joe Russo. “I love them. And they love…they love the Avengers.”

Only One Actor Got to Read the Full Avengers: Endgame Script
JAKE ABBATETHURSDAY, APRIL 18, 2019

Only One Actor Got to Read the Full Avengers: Endgame Script
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has assembled a jam-packed cast of incredibly talented performers over the last 11 years. Unfortunately, some of these performers have a hard time keeping a secret, and since the MCU thrives on secrecy, this can be problematic. With this, the Russo brothers thought it best if certain actors only got to read part of the script when cameras started rolling on Avengers: Endgame. But during a sit-down with Rotten Tomatoes, the film’s co-directors revealed that they trusted one specific actor to stay quiet.

“[Robert Downey Jr.] was probably the only one to actually read the entire script,” said Joe Russo. “I think Benedict [Cumberbatch] got the script that included his scenes only. [Chris] Evans might have read the whole script.”

“Part of our motivation to do that is it just takes a lot of pressure off of people,” added Anthony Russo. “I mean, it is hard to constantly censor yourself about what you’re saying, how you talk, because these movies are your whole life. It’s everything you’re doing all day long, the inclination is to talk about it. So we take a lot of pressure off of people just by saying, ‘Okay, the less you know, the less you have to mind yourself.'”

RELATED: The Russos Discourage Avengers: Endgame Spoilers in an Open Letter to Fans
The decision seems to have paid off in earnest. Last week, Mark Ruffalo shared that he filmed several different endings during Avengers: Infinity War, including one where Bruce Banner dies. Scarlett Johansson recently joked that her fear of spoiling the film during Endgame’s press tour is giving her PTSD.

“It is a more tedious way to work, to be honest with you, because we do have to do more discussion on set about context because they don’t have the entirety of the script to rely on,” continued Anthony Russo. “You do have to work harder in order to work this way, but we do believe it’s worth it because the payoff is a special experience in the movie theater for all the audiences.”

Endgame Co-Writer Says Captain America ‘Steps Forward’ for New Movie
After Avengers: Infinity War, some fans were disappointed that Chris Evans’ Captain America took a backseat in the movie, citing how few lines the Star Spangled man had in the sequel. Speaking with io9, co-writer Stephen McFeely revealed why this ended up happening, and how Endgame will be different.

ADVERTISEMENTSCROLL TO CONTINUE READING
“When I was talking about [Infinity War], I very often said that sometimes we gave ourselves permission to tell more story for a character in Endgame than in Infinity War,” McFeely said. “Cap’s a great example. People counted Cap’s lines [in Infinity War] and he had like 20. So Cap steps forward, as you can probably tell, pretty dramatically in Endgame. And that’s because we knew some people had more interesting stories after [the Snap] than before it. Cap and Natasha are good examples of that. So I wouldn’t say we shortchange anybody [in Endgame], but part of the reason there are only [13] people on that poster was to go deeper with fewer.”

Last year’s Avengers: Infinity War saw the titular superhero team take the fight to Thanos in order to stop his attempt at exterminating half of the universe’s population with the Infinity stones. But it was to no avail, as he was able to successfully collect them all and snap his fingers, wiping out half of all life from existence in a cloud of ash.

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, Avengers: Endgame.

Confirmed cast members for the fourth Avengers film so far includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Sean Gunn, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Katherine Langford and Josh Brolin.

Marvel Studios’ highly-anticipated film will hit the theaters on April 26.
