Ruby Rose’s Batwoman is Officially Getting Her Own CW Series
Ruby Rose’s Batwoman is Officially Getting a Pilot Episode
Last month’s Elseworlds crossover event introduced Ruby Rose’s Kate Kane, a.k.a. Batwoman, to the CW’s Arrowverse. Apparently, The CW executives were impressed with what they saw. The network has formally ordered a pilot episode for the potential Batwoman show.

Caroline Dreis, the writer who penned Batwoman’s introduction, is also scripting the Batwoman pilot and will act as showrunner. Joining her are executive producers Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Geoff Johns. David Nutter (Game of Thrones), is helming the series’ first episode. Much like Supergirl did with Superman, Batwoman may present an opportunity to officially bring Batman into the Arrowverse fold. However, the focus of the show will likely remain on Kate.

Kate made her grand entrance during the second installment of the Elseworlds crossover when Oliver Queen, Barry Allen, and Kara Danvers traveled to Gotham City. She introduced herself to the heroes as Bruce Wayne’s cousin and explained that Batman vanished from the city several years ago. According to Kate, the Dark Knight’s abrupt disappearance plunged Gotham into “seven different kinds of hell.” Taking up residence in the now-condemned Wayne Tower, Kate followed in her cousin’s footsteps and adopted the mantle of Batwoman, protecting Gotham in Bruce’s absence. Batwoman also gave Green Arrow and the Flash a vital assist during the battle at Arkham Asylum.

If The CW picks Batwoman up to series it could run later this year. Are you excited for Batwoman to get her own Arrowverse show? Give us your impressions in the comment section below!
