First Captain Marvel promo art emerges
Insight Editions has revealed (via Vital Thrills) the first products for the upcoming Captain Marvel, offering fans a look at the first promo art for the new movie! Check it out below!

Captain Marvel follows Carol Danvers (Brie Larson, Room) as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, the film is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Brie Larson is joined in the film by Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, with Annette Bening, and Jude Law. Reprising their roles from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy are Djimon Hounsou and Lee Pace, and returning once again to a Marvel Studios film will be Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson.

Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel is directed by the writing/directing team of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, whose credits include Mississippi Grind and Half Nelson. An all-star collective of accomplished writers penned the screenplay, including Meg LeFauve (Inside Out), Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy), Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Tomb Raider), Liz Flahive & Carly Mensch (Glow) and Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck.

Feige is the producer of Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Patty Whitcher and Stan Lee are executive producers, with Lars Winther serving as co-producer/first assistant director and David Grant serving as co-producer.

Captain Marvel will debut in theaters on March 8, 2019.

Our Best Look Yet at Captain Marvel Comes From...a Notebook?

Captain Marvel soars into cinemas next March, but everyone’s been feverishly waiting to actually see Brie Larson in costume. We’ve had concept art, we’ve had set photos, hell, we’ve had a T-shirt modeled by Sam Goddamn Jackson, but nothing official has actually emerged...until now. Sort of.

Merchandising floating around months in advance of a huge movie is just part and parcel of the way blockbusters work now, and Captain Marvel is no exception—but even then, the recent arrival of a set of official notebooks by Insight Editions on Amazon is still a surprisingly early glimpse of officially-sanctioned Carol Danvers goodness. And even then, it still doesn’t really show us much:

You get a cool emblem of the Hala Star emblazoned on her costume on one—with the descriptor “protector of the skies,” which makes sense for the high-flying former USAF pilot—and then a half shot of Captain Marvel herself on the other, reader to punch the cosmic lights out of anyone who crosses her:

Looking fierce, Carol.

At least now it’s in the classic red and blue, rather than the intriguing green version we saw on set! It’s weird that this is the closest we’ve actually come to seeing Carol’s final suit so far, because in the end, it’s still just stylized art of Brie Larson rather than an actual still of her in action. Remember, Disney already released an official first look at its live-action Mulan star Liu Yifei in costume, and that film isn’t coming out until 2020.

But hey, when you’re holding out for a hero to come kick Thanos’ ass, we’ll take what we can get. Captain Marvel hits theaters March 8, 2019.
