An unidentified woman who was murdered back in 1974 has been spotted in a scene in the hit Spielberg movie.
The body of the victim, who was believed to have been in her 30s, was discovered by a teenager walking her dog in sand dunes near Provincetown, Massachusetts, in July 1974.

Despite an investigation spanning 40 years, the mystery of who she was and who it was that ended her life continues to remain one of the most enduring unsolved murder cases in US history.

In a bizarre twist however, writer Joe Hill - son of legendary horror novelist Stephen King - believes that he may have found a new clue that could help authorities solve the case once and for all.

Hill maintains that the mystery woman, who has come to be known as "The Lady of the Dunes", appears in a scene in the 1974 monster movie Jaws.

She is the woman with the blue head scarf that appears in a crowded scene 54 minutes in to the film.

Hill only noticed her after viewing a 40th anniversary screening of the movie in the cinema.

Intriguingly, the scene was filmed in Cape Cod during the same summer the woman was killed.

"The idea that this cold-case murder could somehow be solved right (from) the big screen... well it's an intriguing and enticing possibility," film buff Mark Ramsey told USA Today.

"How cool would that be if a movie and a podcast about the movie could lead to the reopening of a cold case and a possibility to solve that ancient case?"
