Atlantis is Iraq

Plato’s Atlantis missed one point: it was mirrored. It existed not in a past but in a future; it existed not in the west but in the east. It existed not in the sea but in the desert of Iraq. Iraq is the land of the 1001 Night Fairy tales. Iraq is the land of Aladin and the wonderlamp and the land of Ali Baba.

Babylon was in the Bible both the name of the city and the country that had many names: Sesach, Chaldea, Accadia, Mesopotamia, Sinear and Magog. The name Atlantis fits well in this category. Plato’s Atlantis had simply too much water in it. The water dimension of Atlantis had to do with the southern dimension of Tzaphon where the army of Pharao disappeared into the waves. This happened in the book of Exodus. And it was Tyrus that was in the middle of the sea.

But if we throw the water away and give it to the plants, then we will find a residu left. This residu is Atlantis that is actually a desert country with a desert city that exists on the banks of the Euphrates.

Not really certain that Plato would have any reason to "mirror" anything. What would be the point?  In any event, the traditional definition of mirroring something is not to make it's exact opposite, not to describe a desert when he is talking about an island paradise.

Atlantis was also set in the west, beyond the Pillars.  What did the Greeks also set in the west? Their underworld, the land of the sunken dead. Atlantis would seem to equate much better with Tartarus, the land of the sunken dead, home of the Titans.

The Tartaros is NOT the land of the sunken death. Indeed there are titanic beings living there but they are imprisoned and awaiting the Day of their Judgment. Probably the tartaros is the Tehom in Genesis 1:2.

There are many reasons why Plato would mirror Babylon into Atlantis. I will post more on that later. But the main reason is that he created a contra creation story by using a Post Flood Eden like symbol: Babylon.

Babylon is all wrong geographically, it's in the wrong direction and it doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to Atlantis. You'd have better luck choosing the North Pole or Antarctica.

By golly, that would mean that George W Bush went to war with the Iraqis and beat them!  Another feather in George's cap.

Babylon looks exactly like Atlantis, see the video below.

About directions: the viewpoint is Jerusalem: Babylon is in the right direction because it fits in the frame of Tzafon. It is both the eastern and northern dimension of Tzafon, while the horizon in the west was the western dimension. Cairo is the southern dimension as seen from Jerusalem.

Atlantis is an island, whose capital city was surrounded by alternating concentric circles of water and land. There's a large flat plain, a five mile canal leading to the city. There's a mountain range, and Atlantis had bulls, elephants, orichalcum, your theory doesn't look at all like Atlantis.

The elephants on Atlantis were only symbolic and a reference to the ivory trade on Babylon in Revelation 18:12 and a hint to the birthyear of Mohammed (Atlantislam). Theologically Babylon sits in the middle of the sea, connected via the Euphrates (Rev. 17). If we consider Atlantis as an evolving model then, Crete and Tyrus were surrounded by the sea, while the downfall of Tyrus was a shadow of the fall of Babylon. Atlantis is a model that is snaking through history. It started with the serpent that invaded Eden and it will end with EndTimes Babylon.
