Oh, Tom, I am so sorry I didn't get to your message 'til now.  I just have not
checked on the other postings since I have been working on the "Migration"
section.

I really don't know about the dates.  Maybe we could ask Greg Little.  His dates
are the same as this book I'm copying from.

As I told Desiree and Unknown on Feb. 25th, I had dropped my membership
about ten years ago and just renewed about a week before that discussion
with the two of them.

When I was a subscriber then, I did not have on-line access, just a computer
for my Astrological software.  I've been on line for about a little over four years,
when my daughter and her husband gave me their old one, when they replaced
it with one with 'all the trimmings'......

So, being so recently reconnected with the ARE, I haven't yet considered getting
the readings.  I've just been over there a few times and really don't know my way
around that well yet.

Frankly, I'm too busy with Atlantis on line and all the other blogs I go to.  I am sort
of a 'political junkie' and there is sooooo much to keep up with, nowadays!!!
And then there are the political Astrological blogs (Mundane Astrology) and a few
channelers, etc, etc.

Who ever said old age  is boring?  Ah, Ah, Ah.......

Love and Light,
Bianca

BERMUDA TRIANGLE

The Bermuda triangle or Devil's Triangle is a mysterious body of water, 500,000 square miles, in the Atlantic ocean that has caused the deaths and disappearances of thousands of men and women. It is contained in the sea area between Bermuda, Puerto Rico and Florida. See diagram below.

Many strange disturbances have also been encountered and observed within this bizarre body of water. Inexplicable happenings such as both mechanical and electronic compasses spinning uncontrollably, sightings of unusual circles and spinning rainbow lights, as well as funnels of water and strange mists and fogs have been documented by sailors and aircraft pilots. UFO s have been seen buzzing ships and planes.

Even Christopher Columbus the famous explorer, observed a strange light in the sky in his sea voyages in the region. He described it as "a large ball of light fallen from the sky." His compass also began to act erratically.

Many planes and ships have disappeared in this peculiar region, leaving no debris and their remains have never been found, in the shallow waters surrounding the islands. An entire squadron of planes, Flight 19, five bombers in total, disappeared on a routine mission in 1945 in fine weather. One pilot reported that his compass was useless and they did not know where they were in broad daylight. There remains of the crew or bomber debris was never located. A rescue plane sent to help in the search also disappeared leaving only an oil slick.

Many huge tankers and large ships (over 50) have disappeared into the calm waters and pleasure craft still disappear today in mysterious circumstances.

Bimini the island mentioned by famed psychic Edgar Cayce, as being the outposts of ancient Atlantis, is within this strange and mysterious region. Many psychics believe that it is the effects of ancient Atlantean technology that is causing these unusual disturbances in the region.

The US government have set up a mysterious secret base (similar to Area 51) in the region, causing speculation amongst many Conspiracy Theorists, as to a national cover-up. The famed Philadelphia Experiment (when supposedly a US destroyer, the USS Eldridge, was made to disappear and reappear in a cloak of invisibility by scientists in 1943, causing death to several sailors) was believed to have been conducted in this area.

What does it all mean? Why has there been only independent privately sponsored expeditions to the area? Why hasn't there been a national inquiry into the many deaths and disappearances in the region? What can truly be going on here?

We (The Abbotts) channeled an answer to the riddle of the Bermuda Triangle in a meditation circle almost ten years ago. This is what we were told -

"After Atlantis fell into the ocean many millenniums ago after huge volcanic and tidal wave activity, the giant quartz crystals that powered many buildings and devices were not destroyed, but instead fell into the shallow waters on their sides. Most have remained dormant, however several have fallen above powerful ley lines that become active during certain seasons of the year.

When this happens and when certain other cosmic conditions occur at the same time, the strange phenomena of electromagnetic disturbances, fogs and water tunnels results. There is also a star gate in that region that becomes activated. Many of these missing ships and airplanes are unfortunately sucked into this star gate and transported to a different time and star location.

It is indeed traumatic for the crews, however many of them continue an existence far away. Do remember on some level, they have asked for this unique situation to occur, before incarnating. Not everyone wants a predictable life! Your governments have some idea what is occurring, but are hoping to use the crystals/star gate energy for their own experiments. It is at present, not a region we recommend for you to visit."

                                                         EDGAR CAYCE ON  ATLANTIS

The origin of the Atlantean continent is obscured in the misty period of prehistory. Indeed, even psychic records are hard to understand, for the earth's surface has changed many times during even this cycle.

When man entered this earth as man, according to the Edgar Cayce readings, Atlantis was a great continent lying in what is now the Atlantic Ocean between the Gulf of Mexico and the Mediterranean Sea.

In area it can be compared with what is now Europe and Russia. The north and south poles did not occupy their present positions, nor were the land surfaces now existent then above water except as follows:

The eastern seaboard was the coastal region of Atlantis; the region of the Carpathian mountains and the Mongolian Desert were habitable, as was the northern part of what is now Africa, as was the southeastern portion of Atlantis.

The Andean coast of South America were covered by water, while the plains of Utah, Nevada, and Arizona were above sea level. The people of Atlantis passed through the same stages of development as other peoples. As we shall see, there were periods when they attained very high understanding of natural laws and excelled the other races of the world in material civilization.

The first of a series of disturbances came as a result of the use of the very high explosives which were used to destroy the enormous animals that then roamed the world. Great gas pockets were blown open and volcanic eruptions and earthquakes from the slow cooling earth broke up the continent into a group of large islands.

The Bible gives an account of this second change, terming it the flood. Before the final destruction which began about 10,700 B.C. the principal islands remaining were Poseidia, Aryaz and Og. The West Indies are remains of this great continent.

The people of Atlantis were a combination of the hardened thought forms manifesting in that part of the earth, and man's projection, as in present form, as one of the five races, resulting in the red race.

At first the homes were in caves among the rocks and in nests in the trees. Later through group organization, structures of wood and stone were built. Stone was first use to form the implements with which the people protected themselves and secured food. Iron, brass, and copper were also employed even before the first upheavals.

The early Atlanteans were peaceful and so made rapid advances in the application of natural laws.

At an early period natural gas was utilized to make large balloons from the skins of animals and these balloons were used to transport building materials. Electricity was also discovered and set to work for man, thus paving the way for remarkable developments in this field.

Turmoils arose with the mixing of those of pure lineage with those who had not completely thrown off the animal influences. Contempt, hatred, and bloodshed resulted.

With this growth of disturbing factors - resulting from the magnification of desires without regard for the rights of others - an effort was made to draw the people back to the worship of one God, by establishing the first altars upon which were made the sacrifices of the field and forest. Rituals and ceremonies were instituted and the sacred fires set, as the shrine of the pure and the means of cleansing for all.

After the first destruction, the altars were sometimes used for human sacrifice, by those turning more and more away from the original understanding of the Creative Force. Strife, rather than peace, became the common state, and the fact that great understanding of nature's forces had been attained made the destructions all the more terrible.

From this time on, though material civilization rose to great heights, there was a growing unrest which brought about the many migrations both to the east and the west.

As can well be understood when considering the period of time covered, civilizations rose and fell many times on this great continent. At the heights of material achievement the Atlanteans were far more advanced than we are today. They used electricity as we do and, moreover, included among their inventions, well developed television and radio; amplification of light rays for telescopes; and more advanced systems for heating and lighting.

Rays of various kinds were controlled, including the death ray. Fluxes of metals unknown today were used in the various types of air and water craft which were constructed by the Atlanteans. The forces used to propel these crafts were first gas and electricity, but later, forces from the sun's rays - caught and reflected by crystals.

Many beautiful cities were built throughout the land. Perhaps the largest was that called Poseidia, located on what became the last of the great islands also designated by that name. Here on the bay of Parfa - one of the great harbors of the ancient world - the Atlanteans constructed a city of stone.

Water was brought in great conduits from the mountains and distributed to the individual buildings and beautiful pools, of which there were many. The buildings, other than the temple in the heart of the city, were built in tiers. Colored stones, highly polished, were used; and inlay work was prevalent.

In the temple were to be found enormous semi-circular columns of onyx, topaz, and beryl, inlaid with amethyst and other stones that caught the rays of the sun at various angles. Inthe temple, the sacred fires burned continually. These were rays that we know nothing of today. There was an outer court, or assembly hall; the inner rooms for attendants and the inner chamber about the alter and fires.

In appearance the Atlanteans varied as do the people of a vast country today. In the early periods there were both giants and pygmies. Monstrosities resulted from the mixing of the thought forms, but the pure strain as came down from one of the five projections was the origin of the red race.

There are many evidences of Atlantean influences at the present time. As yet men have not established the direct connection. Northern Spain, the region of the Pyrenees; Morocco and Egypt on one side of the Atlantic, the British Honduras, Yucatan and America on the other, show remnants of the civilization brought in by the migrating Atlanteans.

We must remember that the periods of exodus from Atlantis were far apart. The type of civilization carried to the region of the Pyrenees and America just before and after the first destruction was not the same as that carried to Central America and Morocco before the second upheaval, and to Egypt and Yucatan before the final destruction.

In the Pyrenees there are ruins of the early Atlantean settlements; and in Morocco early settlements, also as yet uncovered. In America, traces of Atlantean rituals and ceremonies are to be found among many of the Indian tribes. In Central America and Egypt ancient ruins show definite Atlantean influences, while in both places there will be uncovered records of Atlantean history, duplicate accounts of the early civilizations that will explain much of the early Jewish records as found in the Bible.

The West Indies - as has been pointed out - are actual portions of the continent; and on Bimini there are in existence today remains of an old Atlantean temple.

(For more information see the Edgar Cayce #364 series readings which were given specifically on the topic of Atlantis.)

The false prophet of Virginia Beach
Posted on Monday, 8 March, 2010 | 0 comments
Columnist: William B Stoecker

Edgar Cayce, the so-called “sleeping prophet” of Virginia Beach, Virginia, has been elevated to cult status by the true believers. Books have been written about him, and his life and work are discussed, generally uncritically, on various television programs. But, whether he was a scam artist or a sincere believer in his own nonexistent abilities, there is no real proof that the “cures” he prescribed for the sick really worked. And as for his numerous prophecies, the years have come and gone and every last one of them has failed to come true.

Cayce was born on 3/18/1877 near Beverly, Kentucky, seven miles from Hopkinsville, where his family moved while he was still quite young. He made it through the eighth grade and no further; in fairness, it must be pointed out that this was not unusual in those days, and that many schools then had much higher academic standards than today. He worked for some time in a book store in Hopkinsville, and did a lot of reading, showing a particular interest in books about Atlantis and Lemuria, and works by and about the Theosophists and the Rosicrucians. This is almost certainly where he formed many of his beliefs about the occult and about ancient history and prehistory; there is no evidence that he was not sincere in his opinions.

He developed severe laryngitis, becoming virtually unable to speak; it may have been psychosomatic. A man named Al Layne hypnotized Cayce and cured his laryngitis; supposedly, it was Layne who suggested that Cayce be hypnotized repeatedly and, while in this state, prescribe treatments for the sick. Cayce’s wife and later his son replaced Layne in the role of hypnotist, and Cayce, while hypnotized, or “sleeping,” gave readings for many years and became quite popular. He received voluntary donations for this, and supported himself and his family. He mostly prescribed treatments and medications that today would be called “holistic.” There is no evidence that any of his alleged cures actually harmed anyone or caused their death or greater suffering by discouraging them from seeking conventional treatment when necessary. Nor, while he did make a living at this, is there any evidence that he became wealthy at the expense of his patients. Interestingly, he once prescribed almonds to prevent cancer, and bitter almonds (but not the kind generally sold today) contain laetrile, which many people believe can prevent or even cure cancer. So his medical advice may have had at least some value.

But his predictions, written in the fractured English of an uneducated man seemingly trying to impress people with his eloquence, failed again and again to come true, despite a vagueness rivaling that of Nostradamus.

In 1931 Cayce predicted that the Depression would begin to end in the spring of 1933…but that year turned out to be worse, with even more unemployment and poverty, which lingered for many more years. In January of 1934 he predicted that Hitler would rule Germany…but, in fact, Hitler had ruled Germany since 1933, so Cayce was predicting, not the future, but the past. In February, 1932 he predicted “A great catastrophe that’s coming to the world in ’36 in the form of the breaking up of the many powers that now exist as factors in the world affairs.” I am utterly unable to translate most of this into English, but the “catastrophe” part is clear enough, and there simply was no clear catastrophe that year. The Depression had begun some years before, as had Japanese aggression, Stalin’s mass murders, and Germany’s rearmament; all of these continued, and the real catastrophe did not begin until 1939 when Hitler invaded Poland, setting off World War II. But this prediction, though it failed, is almost readable compared to his statement in July, 1939 that the United States must continue to be “As it were…the balance of power in not only the money forces of the world but those influences that will later be for the manning of those powers whose greater destructive forces will arise in those portions of the world…” This is not even English; it is meaningless gobbledegook; his devoted followers could read into this any meaning they desired.

Cayce claimed that our Solar System orbited Arcturus and the Pleiades. Aside from the fact that we, along with all the stars in the galaxy, orbit the galactic center, Arcturus is a single massive star that is many, many light years from the young stars in the Pleiades cluster. He also said that scientists would rediscover an “Atlantean death ray” in 1958, but lasers, which have yet to be made into effective weapons (other than to measure ranges and illuminate targets) were not developed until 1960. Cayce predicted the Second Coming of Jesus in 1998. Where is He? If ever we needed a Messiah it is now, but there is no sign of one. Cayce’s followers say that Jesus was reincarnated that year, and is therefore (as of 2010) only a twelve year old boy. Maybe, but Cayce said nothing about reincarnation.

To give credit where very little credit is due, Cayce claimed that there was an ancient hall of records under the Sphinx at Giza in Egypt. As yet, no such records have been found (or, if they have, it is being kept secret). But seismic echo measurements some years ago detected a large underground chamber between the forepaws of the Sphinx, and even Zahi Hawass, Secretary General of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities, has admitted that there are secret passages leading into the Sphinx itself, although he claims that they lead nowhere (if so, why were they constructed?). In fact, over the last few years the truth has gradually leaked out…Giza is honeycombed with manmade tunnels and chambers, some of them containing artifacts (which Hawass claims date only to known Dynastic times). The tunnels, furthermore, connect with a natural cavern system of unknown extent; unfortunately, much of this underground realm is also underwater. But Cayce cannot really claim credit even for this; he was merely repeating the claims made by Theosophists and other occultists.

But it is his predictions for major Earth changes, seemingly calculated to excite people and achieve more notoriety, that are his most spectacular failures. These are akin to the wild claims of the self-styled “prophet” Gordon Michael Scallion, whose predictions of rising and falling continents for each coming year were breathlessly reported on television again and again, despite proving false again and again. In 1941 Cayce claimed that “in the next few years land will appear in the Atlantic as well as the Pacific.” Most people would define a “few years” as less than ten, and no new continents or islands appeared in either ocean, or anywhere else, by 1951. A volcano produced a small island off the coast of Iceland, but this did not begin until 1963. He predicted major Earth changes for the period between 1958 and 1998. Most of us would define major Earth changes as huge rises or falls in sea levels, an ice age, or rising and sinking continents. None of this happened. Cayce predicted a magnetic pole shift for 2000; the magnetic poles were slowly drifting about long before he made the prediction and have continued to do so since, but there has been no reversal and the poles have remained in the Arctic and Antarctic. This is hardly what most people would call a “shift.” His prediction that new land, portions of Atlantis, would appear in 1968 or 1969 off the East Coast of America is often seized upon by his followers as accurate; they cite the discovery in 1968 of the “Bimini Road” in the Bahamas, a structure that skeptics claim is a natural formation of beach rock but which, in fact, does resemble an ancient road or seawall. This may, indeed, be an Atlantean structure, but that is not what Cayce predicted…he claimed that land would rise up from the sea. And it didn’t.

Many, many decades ago Cayce claimed that “The Earth will be broken up in the western portion of America. The greater portion of Japan must go into the sea. The upper portion of Europe will be changed as in the twinkling of an eye.” He went on to predict that “Portions of the now east coast of New York, or New York City itself, will in the main disappear. This will be another generation, though, here, while the southern portions of Carolina, Georgia…these will disappear. This will be much sooner.” Well over two generations have passed since Cayce made these predictions, and not a one of them has come true. But I suspect that they were sensational enough to attract at least some attention to Cayce…and increase his donations.

About the best that can be said for Cayce is that the Association for Research and Enlightenment, A.R.E., which he founded in 1931, has at least helped to keep people interested in holistic health and in Mankind’s ancient past. Greg and Laura Little, associated with A.R.E., have explored ancient Mayan ruins in Yucatan and have dived repeatedly off the Bahamas, investigating the underwater, possibly artificial, structures there. People are free to disagree with their belief that the structures may be Atlantean, yet it must be admitted that they have collected a good deal of data. But the fact remains that Cayce, like many other sensationalist “prophets,” had not a clue about what would happen in the future. This should remind us all to balance our interest in the strange and the paranormal with a healthy dose of skepticism.

The posting of the preceeding article--from Unexplained-Mysteries--is a good example of why the Cayce organization typically never responds to such unmitigated crap. For some interesting reasons there are people who so hate and despise others in this field that they will write anything, make up anything, and quote anything, no matter how inaccurate, wrong, biased, and outright fabricated it is. It obviously makes them feel better and all of those who want to believe it feel better because it confirms their preconceived beliefs. The ARE found that responding to all of these lies and distortions took too much energy and they made a decision long ago to "turn the other cheek" and let those who want to know the truth to seek it for themselves. That's why you will never see an official reply from the ARE when such garbage about Cayce is scattered around like fertilizer in the hopes if you spread enough of it it'll be "absorbed."

But then I'm not here speaking for the ARE.

The quality and accuracy of the article can be seen in the last paragraph of Stoeker's article. He cites no source but says my wife Lora is "Laura." He says we "believe" the structures in the Bahamas and Yucatan are "Atlantean" but again no source is cited...because it's a complete fabrication. He's obviously read nothing we wrote. There is a lot more, but of course citing all of the nonsense in this article is a waste of time for the skeptards.

He says there is no evidence that any Cayce health remedies ever helped anyone. Hmm. I suppose the medical journal articles evaluating Cayce's remedies all are lies. I suppose that the American Medical Association's special issue on holistic health, wherein they essentially referred to Cayce as the "father of holistic medicine," is a lie perpetrated by evil research doctors. (The ARE didn't publish these articles, university-affiliated medical researchers did.) And there is a reason that about 67% of the ARE's 30,000 active (meaning paid) members are primarily interested in the health aspect. Ask some of them if they were "helped." Of course that would be work and you'd have to ignore what many of these people people actually told you. As to why medicine is more accepting of this type of information the answer is clear. They seek remedies and solutions for health problems. They don't care if the remedy that works came from someone's guess or a hunch or a book. If it works, that's their major concern.

Stoeker complains that Cayce read a lot of books, as if that was an evil thing. But did he? Did he read books? Probably. So what? Every word you write you have probably read somewhere. I suspect that some books actually have some truth and facts in them. I suspect that somewhere in all of our pasts we have read something in a book that influenced us. But that would be evil and nefarious somehow to the skeptics. Saying that because Cayce read books it is proof he's somehow a fraud is ludicrous. That is, in fact, the absolute worst and most stupid argument regarding Cayce I have ever heard.

He says Cayce made his living from psychic readings ignoring the well-established fact that Cayce made his living as an award-winning professional photographer.

There is so much else in this article that is preposterously untrue that it's just too much to address. He says that Cayce said the solar system orbited Arcturus and the Pleiades. Where did Cayce say that? He did mention both of them yes, but not that our solar system "orbited" them. It seems likely that he's repeating what someone told him, not actually reading Cayce's readings. It's probably the same thing with Lora's name. Someone said "Lora Little" to him and he wrote Laura. Somebody might have told him we believe we found Atlantis. So it must be true, and it's written as if it is. Well, that's the skeptic's research method, so it's apparently OK.

He rails against the supposed Cayce "prediction" that the source of an energy focused source would be discovered in 1958, but he replies that the laser was developed in 1960 not 1958, so there. But the maser, the foreruner of the laser was developed in 58. But that really means nothing. Cayce didn't mention a laser, ever. [I personally don't think Cayce was referring to either the laser or maser. It was something else entirely.] The writer wouldn't know about the maser and what we speculated about because he hasn't read any books--at least any that we wrote or Edgar Evans Cayce's books where the maser's 1958 discovery is detailed. But having to cite the facts will only muddle the point, so there's no need to actually see what the facts are, right?

There are lots of other things I should mention, but it'll fall on people who are "hard of listening" because they don't want to hear the truth. They want to keep believing something. But I'll just add one more. No Cayce reading predicted a magnetic pole shift in 2000. Some other people have, at least I think so, although I can't name them right now. But did Edgar Cayce say that? No. Search the Cayce readings---show the proof that Cayce predicted a magnetic pole shift in 2000. That is an unmitigated lie. And with that, I'll end the factual issues.

He ends by saying people should balance one's interest in all of this with a healthy dose of skepticism. Indeed. If it makes one feel better to read an internet article and believe what it says, so be it. But if you want to criticize and smear people who you believe are frauds, why would you need to make up anything? If someone who did as much as Cayce did was REALLY a fraud, would it not be easy to find the proof? Would it not be easy to use actual facts and not have to resort to fabricating and distorting things? That was something I told archaeologist Kenneth Feder about statements he wrote about Cayce in his textbook. That challenge was enough for him to go back and check his sources, and he then changed his textbook. That's ethical and that's how real science is supposed to be conducted.

Why such an article would be posted in a thread about the Edgar Evans Cayce's (not Edgar Cayce the psychic) book on Atlantis seems bizarre. It says a lot about motives.

It sure does say a lot about motives. People try to "debunk" Cayce without ever having even read him.  On the other hand, are there any new developments concerning your own work on Atlantis in the Caribbean that you care to report on?

Hi Greg
I don't have any motives so I'm not sure what you mean by your closing sentence.  I only brought that article over, so people here could see what the debunkers were saying.  In this forum people don't chat much, they come to read whatever information has been posted.  It's not my personal opinion of Cayce.  I used to fight with my brother when I was young and first read Edgar Cayce's stuff because I believed in him and my brother didn't.  I couldn't understand why my brother was being so negative about it.  I've since come to realize that there are always two sides to everything and there will be those who are for, and those who are against.

Shara: There are many new things. But we haven't posted any of them yet... we'll release the info on our site and in documentaries when we are ready, but still have a bit more to do.

Q: You begin by saying "I don't have any motives" and then proceed to list some motives. Many "debunkers" are "the bunk," and it's likely that everyone knows what they believe and want others to believe about Cayce and whatever else they want to trash. People have reasons for spreading lies and distortions and within are motives. It is pathetic, but also sad. The U-M forum is riddled with it.

"There are always two sides to everything" is a sweeping generalization and naive. As it's written it's certainly not true--countless textbooks will tell you that's a faulty and irrational belief...but you can 1) believe it; 2) reject it; 3) consider other possibilities. It is true that many people prefer to see everything as being just black or white and that either could be true. It is a debating ploy.
