THE Loch Ness Monster has been discovered by the British Government which is hiding the truth from the public, according to some quarters of the internet.

Conspiracists have speculated and searched for the Loch Ness Monster since it was apparently first sighted by Saint Columba in 565 AD which banished it to the Loch.

Since then, there have been more than 1,000 sightings, and according to the official Loch Ness Monster website, Loch Ness Sightings, 2017 was a record breaking year with 11 sightings

According to popular YouTube channel All Time Conspiracies, the Government discovered the Loch Ness Monster but decided to cover-up the finding to prevent a tug of war between two museums.

Of all history's greatest questions - who killed JFK? was the moon landing faked? who shot Phil Mitchell? - none is more mysterious than 'is the Loch Ness Monster real?'.

Well a fan says he has an answer after filming the mythical beast frolicking about in the waters of the famous Loch for 10 minutes... allegedly.

Eoin O’Faodhagain was given a "terrific shock" after appearing to capture Nessie diving down before resurfacing.

Nessie mystery could be solved once and for all as scientists use DNA testing on Loch Ness

The clip has been accepted by the Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register, according to The Mirror .

Nessie watcher Eoin, 53, from Co Donegal, Northern Ireland, said: “I couldn’t believe my eyes and started recording it on my phone.

“It was certainly something big. It dived down and up again and dived and disappeared.

"It was not a boat. I would say it was Nessie.”

Gary Campbell, keeper of the sightings register, said: “As far as Nessie footage goes, this is a feature film.

"Normally you only get videos of one or two seconds. It is remarkable in its length.

"Clearly it is something that dives in and out of the surface with water splashes and reflections.

"The object would be no larger than 20ft.”

The news comes just days before DNA sampling on fragments of skin and scales collected from the loch in the Scottish Highlands.

 Some facts on Loch Ness:

In terms of area (nearly 22 sq miles) it is the fourth largest lake in the United Kingdom, after Lough Neagh (Northern Ireland), Lower Lough Erne (Northern Ireland) and Loch Lomond (Scotland). In comparison, England's largest lake, Lake Windermere, is 5.7 sq miles and Wales's largest lake, Llyn Tegid, is 1.9 sq miles. (Lough Neagh is by far the largest lake in the UK, 3.5 times bigger than the second largest).

It's the UK's second deepest lake, 755ft at its deepest.

It is by far the largest UK lake in volume, and holds more fresh water than all the lakes in England and Wales combined.

There is one island in Loch Ness - Cherry Island. The island is situated at the southwestern tip of the loch, near Fort Augustus. It's artificial - known as a crannog - and was constructed during the Iron Age.
