Rumor: Resident Evil 2 Remake Release Month Revealed

Rumor: Resident Evil 2 Remake Release Month Revealed

After first announcing the Resident Evil 2 remake a few years ago, Capcom is finally expected to properly reveal the game at E3 this year. We’re not quite sure what to expect from the Resident Evil 2 remake at E3, if it is indeed at the show as expected, but one thing that may be announced is its release date.

Resident Evil-themed YouTube channel Residence of Evil has discovered evidence that Resident Evil 2 remake will launch in late October of this year, and if so, it seems likely Capcom will announce an exact release date at E3. Residence of Evil’s evidence is a new Leon S. Kennedy Raccoon City Police Department jacket that goes on sale “late October” that looks quite different from Leon’s gear in the original Resident Evil 2 game.

It wouldn’t be surprising if Leon were to get a new look in the Resident Evil 2 remake, and it makes sense for Capcom to update his appearance for modern consoles. However, there are some things about the new jacket that, as pointed out in the video below, are somewhat inconsistent with the game’s setting. For example, the jacket has a place for body camera equipment, which weren’t widely used in the 1990s, which is when the events of Resident Evil 2 took place. The jacket also has a detective badge for Leon, when he is supposed to be a rookie cop.
