Special software is being used to solve the mystery of who betrayed Anne Frank's family to the Nazis.
It's a mystery that has spanned nearly 75 years, but now former FBI investigator Vince Pankoke, who is working together with Netherlands-based production company Proditione Media, hopes to use a special piece of software to find out once and for all who was responsible.

The software they will be using is capable of cross-referencing millions of police reports, military records, investigate files and other documents to hunt for new leads and connections.

"The bottom line is until this day, there is nothing that's really held water or been definitive," said Pankoke. "The point of the investigation is fact-finding just to discover the truth."

"There is no statute of limitations on the truth."

Anne Frank and her family had spent two years hiding from the Nazis in a secret annex at the back of her father's store before they were discovered and captured in the summer of 1944.

Out of the eight family members, only Anne's father, Otto, survived the Holocaust.
