True ghost stories

I have many paranormal / strange stories to tell. I've always been able to sense and hear spirits. Just recently though I have been able to see apparitions and shadows. I will start with the newest activity.

I have been living in my home for 6 years. The last owners lost it and were under a lot of stress so I smudged my home to clear any negative energy. Also many homes in my neighborhood are haunted. I believe because our homes were built on old Native American soil.

Only in the past year or two we've had weird things happen in our home. At first my children would hear me, often, calling out for them. When in fact I never did. But I was going through a depression and drinking to much, too often. I think the activity and my depression are connected.

Several months ago my daughter came to me and tried to tell me something was wrong upstairs. (She's autistic and non verbal) My husband and I went upstairs and found our door was closed and our handle wouldn't pull down. My husband pushed on it but there was a strong force keeping it closed. This might not seem strange to you but my handles don't lock because there is none. Also my husband installed the doors, they were from a house that was going to be torn down. They are not tight in the frame so it wasn't a wind or heat expanding the wood. My husband put all his weight into forcing it open. It opened but also cracked our door frame. He said "ghost" and I told him "let's not give it anymore energy".

Last week I awoke at 5am because I heard 5 loud footsteps. When I woke up I had a feeling that someone was in my room. I turned towards my closet and there was a tall dark shadow facing my bedroom doors. My cell phone lit up seconds later because my battery was low and it disappeared. I laid in bed for a few minutes collecting myself and gathering the courage to get up. I heard water running in the bathroom, I thought maybe it was the toilet. When I entered I found my faucet on full blast.

Next morning I asked my daughter if she woke up and used the water. She just began speaking and said "ghost". I asked my son and he said he didn't get up but he heard the loud footsteps too, then moments later he heard me come out of my bedroom. He confided in me that he's been hearing knocking on the ceiling, 3 knocks.

I have been looking into and reading about stories like mine. Many believe the knocking signals that someone will die soon. Two people have died, one a friend and a great Aunt recently. I have tried to protect my family from all this, I've failed.

I'm in a better state of mind and have given up drinking. I intend to clear my home again and remove any negativity within me and my home. I hope my stories help some of you and know you're not alone.
