The nature of time has puzzled scientists for years - but what if there was actually no such thing ?

The nature of time has puzzled scientists for years - but what if there was actually no such thing ?

If we are to have a discourse on this matter of time, it would be standard, and usually expected that you would have spent some time to voice your own views and opinion on the matter by first telling us some of the "ifs" resulting from the hypothesis that there is no such thing as time. But perhaps you are merely posing the question of "what if" only to make others think about it, those who may have never reflected on the possibility that "time" does not exist. The clip you provided is rather short and does not give much to go on, one way or the other, on the "if." Meaning, that before anyone can really say, with any amount of certainty, if time does exist (being) or does not actually exist (not-being), would it not be proper to first try to establish what time is?  Also based on the clip it seems that the speaker alludes to both philosophy and science, as perhaps "time" means something different to a philosopher than to a scientist, although in the remote past, philosophy and science was meant as the same occupation, variant only whether it dealt with the subject of natural science, or ethics, laws, and metaphysical matters. For instance, today we would classify Aristotle both a philosopher and a scientist. However not all philosophers of old were manifold, as some were strictly one or the other. And in the past, this "idea" of time has been addressed by some of the best thinking minds, both by philosophers and scientists, or a combination of them.

If there is no such thing as time, would people ever age? But then again, if there is no such thing as time, would anyone ever come to be (born) so as to not get older?
If there is no such thing as time, would there be motion? But if there is no such thing as time, how would me measure speed?

The above "ifs" are just a couple of the silly questions and consequences we would need to consider if time does not exist. And I mean the definition of time as we accept it today. Because perhaps "time," as a physical and sensible thing, does not really exist, as it is just one of those "things" we made up to explain motion. Or better still, change, as change can be considered motion in place (stationary), rather than motion out of place (not remaining stationary.)

Here is an interesting clip from a PBS television show, Closer To Truth, which is discussing Time. There are other segments of the episode that discuss time with other experts, both from a scientific point of view and also from a philosophical one. The entire series is a good one, I think, as it also gives the pro and cons on many other subjects that are not as yet been put to rest, one way or the other. A good thought provoking series explained fairly well, as to not needing to be a scientist nor a philosopher to follow it, as the topics are not given by going into the details, and it is only a general summary, with examples and explanations that are aimed at the general audience, rather than at the experts in the fields being discussed.
