British homeowners may have to deal with the odd pesky fox  but spare a thought for what residents in Thailand have to put up with.

A Thai man was left stunned when he found this huge monitor lizard clinging to his front door after it clambered onto his property.

Attanai Thaiyuanwong posted a video of the ‘monster’ reptile outside his home in Nonthaburi, Thailand, on Facebook, with the clip racking up more than 250,000 views and receiving thousands of shares and likes.

In the clip, the man and his family attempt to get the lizard to move out of the way and can be heard shrieking every time the lizard swings it tail.

According to Thai news website Coconuts Bangkok, the man says [translated]: “(The lizard) is in our house. It’s f-----g huge!”

A woman off-camera adds: “They say if you throw a coin at it, it will go away! It's like giving the lizard luck and fortune!"

“You should stand next to it, sister. You're the same size,” the man responds.

“It's cute!” the woman replies.

He jokes back: “Cute? Has it ever tried to reach the mirror and look at itself or what?”

It’s unclear if the family managed to eventually move the lizard out of the way and get back into their home or if they are still stranded outside.

Monitor lizards include 60 living species of large lizards in the genus Varanus, according to encyclopedia.com.

Monitors inhabit tropical and subtropical regions of Africa, Asia, and Australia, the site adds.

It remains unclear how Thaiyuanwong eventually managed to remove the animal from his property but the image he took has since wracked up several hundred thousand views online.
