The match took place in Las Vegas Nevada and was the first time in four years Tyson had taken the ring.
It was the highest grossing fight in history during the time and gained international headlines, but now some believe it might have received universal attention.
The video was first published on YouTube in September 2015 by has since resurfaced by other conspiracy theorists searching for answers.
JammyBantam, the first YouTuber to release this bizarre sighting, explains the object has a lens in the center, just like a smartphone, and makes it clear that no camera's in the 1990s were designed to look like the device in the clip -"it even flashes red ffs", he shared.
"I dunno if it's a time traveller or not, but no one can explain what camera it is; a QV-100 doesn't have a silver bit on the right, and this camera doesn't seem to have a black line under the lens," he shares in the video description.
Others baffled by this sighting have been passing the video around hoping someone has more information about the mysterious device.
Scott C Waring from UFOSightingsDaily.com published the video on his blog today, sharing his opinion with his followers.
"What we have here is a time-traveller coming back to watch their favorite fighter and sitting in the front row seats," he writes.
"Back in 1995 they did have phones, but they didn't yet have cameras on them."
"Why wouldn't a time traveler want to see Mike Tyson fight?"
Some aren't completely sold and have brought up the idea that although it looks "very slim, small portable and has just a center camera", there were camcorders in the 1990s that looked just like it.
"I did some research and there were some very sophisticated camcorders for their time period that look somewhat like this,' said YouTuber AllThings Creepy.
"I think this could be a possible explanation and if so this is not a time traveler but this is just someone with a relatively new camera."
There have actually been quite a few time traveller claims over the past year.
Earlier this year, theorists created a stir about a Greek sculpture from 100 BC that they say showed a women holding a laptop - complete with USB ports.
The concept of this image has been a part of Greek funerary art for centuries and most likely pertains to the hope they that will still have the same earthly pleasures in the afterlife.
