IN SPACE - JULY 16: In this handout image supplied by the European Space Agency (ESA) on July 16, 2008, The Echus Chasma, one of the largest water source regions on Mars, is pictured from ESA's Mars Express. The data was acquired on September 25, 2005. The dark material shows a network of light-coloured, incised valleys that look similar to drainage networks known on Earth. It is still debated whether the valleys originate from precipitation, groundwater springs or liquid or magma flows on the surface. (Photo by ESA via Getty Images)

NASA has scheduled a press conference for 11:30 a.m. Eastern time Monday to "detail a major science finding from the agency’s ongoing exploration of Mars," according to a release.

Details of the announcement haven't been leaked, but fact the director of planetary science and lead scientist for the Mars Exploration Program will both be on hand at the news conference is an indication of the level of importance NASA has placed on it.

Three university officials from Georgia Tech and the University of Arizona in Tuscon will also be present.

The event will air live on NASA's website, according to the release.

The public can use the hashtag #AskNASA to participate.

NASA recently revealed it was able to see Pluto like never before as a result of new photos from the Horizon Spacecraft.

Skepticism is good, but when you reach a certain level where
you're grasping at straws and making little sense... it's not
called skepticism.  It's called ignorance.

A few sites have speculated they have found flowing water. It's stemming from the panel of scientists that have been selected to speak at this conference. Either way, exciting stuff!
