NEW SPECIFIC CODE + SLEEPING ROOM RATE PER NIGHT
ShadowGram Update #361 last night premiere-announced discount-rate sleeping room information for the DS Anniversary Celebration.
That first block of rooms has sold out.
A second block of sleeping rooms at the hotel with a reduced rate for DS 50th attendees only is now open. It is expected to sell out quickly.
To make a reservation, you must call the hotel’s direct phone: 1-914-631-5700 and ask for Reservations.
To receive the special reduced sleeping room rate, you must mention the NEW special code – DS2
The room rate for this second block of rooms is $199.00 (+ tax) per night (regularly $299.00 + tax per night)
The hotel asks ShadowGram to please inform everyone:
“In order to make a sleeping room reservation at special DS rate, you must stay a minimum of 2 nights.”
“One-night stays at the reduced rate are not available at this hotel for this event.”
All Fest programming on Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26 will take place at the Doubletree Hotel.

*** THE PASSING OF DAVID KENNEDY – 2012 DS MOVIE PRODUCER
A longtime television executive and former top talent agent, David Kennedy, age 73, died in Los Angeles 6-17 due to complications from knee surgery. David was one of the producers of the 2012 DARK SHADOWS movie starring Johnny Depp.
Following, SG combines excerpts from obituaries in Variety and Hollywood Reporter, dated 7-1.
A major talent agent in the 1970s-80s, he later moved into TV and film production. He was executive producer for DS creator DAN CURTIS’ final 2 TV movies: the Emmy-winning “Saving Milly” (based on the true life of a woman with Parkinson’s Disease) and “Our Fathers,” about the sexual abuse scandal in the Catholic Church.”
Born in Stamford, CT, his father was NBA Commissioner J. Walter Kennedy. Upon graduating from Notre Dame, Kennedy worked for NBC Sports, producing a special live telecast of America's Cup and serving on the production team for the first Super Bowl in 1967
Kennedy was a New York talent agency with ICM in the 1970s-80, representing Robin Williams, Eddie Murphy, Dick Clark, Lorne Michaels, Bob Keeshan (Captain Kangaroo) and Theodore Geisel – Dr. Seuss, among others.
At the time of his death Kennedy was developing a pair of films with Depp: a proposed Dr. Seuss biography and a remake of Dan Curtis' classic TV movie "The Night Stalker." He was also spear-heading television projects for FX Productions including a dramatic adaptation of the 2012 AIDS activism documentary "How to Survive a Plague."
