Cueva De Los Verdes (Green Caves) - Carretera de Orzola, Malpais de La Corona, Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain

Standing on the northern side of Lanzarote, the Cueva De Los Verdes is part of the same underground lava cave network as Jameos del Agua, with is situated nearby.

Stretching for around 4 miles / 6 km, many of the passages are fairly narrow and guided tours last around one hour, being available both in English and Spanish.

Famous for being a much-used local refuge from pirates many years ago, who once searched for slaves on the island, modern lighting effects add character and drama to the caves.
