That's all you want him to do, veto stuff? 
What about all the crappy legislation that has already been passed?  He wouldn't be able to do squat about that, neither the Dems or the Repubs would feel duty bound to work with a third party guy.
Plus, they say all sorts of stuff to get elected, then totally change once they get into office. Third party guys would be no different!
