Obama Campaign Makes Closing Argument Against Mitt Romney In New Swing State Ad

The Obama campaign packed its closing argument against a Mitt Romney presidency into a new television ad released in critical battleground states on Saturday.

The commercial, titled "Remember," runs through President Barack Obama's principal talking points against his opponent: A voucher-like approach to Medicare, tax cuts for the wealthy at the expense of the middle class, slashing the education budget, and rolling back regulations on banks.

At this stage in the game, ads are said to have little impact on voters, who have either tuned them out or made up their minds about which candidate to support. But based on the ads released in the days leading up to the election, it's clear the Obama campaign's final advertising agenda now consists of two objectives: mobilize the president's base to the polls, as seen with the Florida Recount ad released just days ago, and make a final effort to reach the small faction of undecided voters in the states that will likely decide the election.

The new ad will run in Ohio, Florida, Iowa and Virginia -- all of which are still considered a toss up come Nov. 6.

With just over a week to go, the narrator reminds voters that the choice is entirely up to them. "In here ... it’s just you. No ads. No debates … just you," he says, as images are flashed of a voting booth and ballot.

Romney campaign spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg called the new ad "desperate" and expressed confidence that voters will choose a Romney-Ryan administration on Election Day.

"The President’s campaign is once again trying to cover up for his lack of an agenda to help the middle class. If President Obama is reelected, our national debt will climb to $20 trillion, Medicare will be cut by $716 billion, and millions of middle-class families will be hit with tax increases," Henneberg said in an email. "We can’t afford four more years like the last four years. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are offering real change for a real recovery, with 12 million new jobs, rising incomes, and a stronger middle class. On November 6, Americans will choose Gov. Romney’s positive agenda over President Obama’s increasingly desperate attacks."

My cousin who is an uber rich Wall Street banker says Wall Street loves Romney-Ryan because they are true Wall Streeters and would roll back banking regs and get rid of consumer protections. Who is looking out for Main Street? Not the R/R ticket you can be sure. I cannot understand why any middle class person would support the Romney Ryan ticket.
