Nova

First Appearance: Nova #1 (September 1976)
Abilities: Taping into the collective "Nova Force" which allows him to fly in space, grants him superhuman speed, strength and the ability to project, absorb and deflect energy.
Chances he's in the movie: 50%
Lowdown: In an origin story strikingly similar to Green Lantern's, Richard Ryder is bestowed the power of the Nova Corps by the last living Nova Centurion. Unlike Hal Jordan, however, Ryder is a teenager when he receives his powers and spends years learning how to be a true hero. While not an official member of the Guardians in the comics, he worked closely with them in defeating two major crises in the universe. Currently, MIA, dead or waiting to be resurrected (take your pick), Ryder's Nova would be an excellent member of a big screen "Guardians."  Especially if Marvel was considering the hero for his own spin-off film.
