Hi Mark, I suppose the best way to put it would be that I don't 'not' believe in it. I suppose I am looking for proof and want to believe like most others here. I'm actually of the opinion that the story has to be older than some give it credit for there to be so little trace of it. I'm also a bit bothered that some Atlantis researchers take some aspects of Plato's story (i.e. a circular city and simply toss away others.

In order for something to be called Atlantis it had to:

1. have a flat rectangular plain of giant dimensions
2. supported large population centers, probably not a small island like Spartel as some suggest.
3. Have the remains of a 5 1/2 mile canal, concentric circles, circular city, all that.
4. Been above water sometime during the last twenty thousand years.

We can probably forget about finding any ruins since the eastern to mid Atlantic have undersea volcanoes and are erupting all the time.
