ANDROS PLATFORM

Analysis update June 2004

The following thumbnail gallery is from the update published by the Little's in June 2004, see here for the original article; click on the thumbnails for enlargements. Since their previous dive, about a year ago, the Little's have noticed that some parts that were previously visible are now covered with sand, and the other way around, probably due to storms. This is a familiar phenomenon in shallow waters, for example at the Dutch and English coasts, where it is not unusual to make new finds of material from as early back as World War II, to ship wrecks dating from the seventeenth century. The new things found by the Little's were that some blocks were placed in a layer on top of others, see 1 to 4, sometimes seemingly forming shallow step-like structures, see 5. Other pictures show regularity similar to the first gallery, see 6 to 9. Picture 10 shows additional detail in this regularity.

The new data confirms the conclusions from the previous material, and enlarges the possibility of the entire feature being artificial, because it enlarges the number of objects that are related by structural similarities. The lay-out of the blocks in picture 10, outlined by the Little's in picture 11, has similarities with the lay-out of the blocks in constructions in Peru, for example those at Sacsayhuman, see picture 11.

The latter feature, if confirmed, is the second link between the Andros platform and Peru, the first one being the toolmarks, see here. This enhances the possibilty of a cultural link between Andros and Peru to at least above 50-50.

To follow the line of investigation of this site, go to the Yonaguni introduction, or if already visited, the Peru Constructions page.

Clearly visible is how a second level of blocks is placed on top of a base layer. The arm of the diver in the bottom right corner gives the scale. The red object in the bottom left corner is coral.
