                                                      LIVING BY STARLIGHT

                                              AN ASTROLOGICAL NEWSLETTER

JUNE 2009

AUTHOR’S NOTES:

On Wednesday May 27th at 4:12 P.M. EST Jupiter and Neptune conjunct. This energy coincides with the recent swine flu hysteria. As this aspect completes and these two planets separate the incidences of outbreaks will lesson and the fears will subside. However they will conjoin once more on December 21st 2009 and that may be when we see the true severity of this illness. Jupiter will exacerbate whatever it comes in contact with, and Neptune rules infectious diseases. This is also why we are having one of the worst allergy seasons in recent memory. In 2010 Neptune will dance across America’s Moon three times. The Moon in America’s rectified chart rules the 8th house of death and joint financial holdings. It is also the house that rules the banking industry. We may be in for some serious, confusing and possibly debilitating situations. I am not at all convinced that our banks are secure, and with Neptune coming along, a great deal of misdirection and underlying festering infection may be uncovered.

Neptune is also the great illusionist. The combination of Jupiter and Neptune is also creating a pie-in-the-sky attitude in the financial markets and has led to the recent roaring bear market rally. The consumer confidence number, (Jupiter – Neptune can create a false sense of hope) which in itself is a joke, was so much higher than expected that it set off a 200 point rally in the DOW. But with unemployment continuing to rise, and the dollar moaning its death rattle, most of that confidence is of the Neptunian kind – more faith than fodder.

Jupiter will retrograde on June 15th. Historically this is usually a bearish signal in the stocks. When they are rallying, the turn around of Jupiter usually (about 80% of the time) represents a change in direction for the markets. If they are already heading downward, this indicates a more severe drop. Remember, Jupiter overdoes everything, good or bad. With Saturn moving towards its next opposition to Uranus you can expect continued instability and a return of fears, both rational and irrational. This rally is coming to a close. The completion of the Jupiter – Neptune conjunct, the retrograde of Jupiter, and the coming Saturn aspects are all pointing down.

Saturn has ended its retrograde motion and is moving forward once more. It will reach 18 degrees Virgo the week of July 18th where it was when the markets crashed last fall, and again in early March 2009 when they crashed the 2nd time. Mars in the NYSE chart is 18 degrees Virgo, and July will once again be a time of testing for the stocks. As Saturn continues to move forward through the summer it will once again apply to the opposition to Uranus, which completes next in September. This opposition has completed twice so far, on November 4th 2008, and February 5th 2009. Each conjunction has led to a stock market crash. There is no reason to believe the three more passes of this aspect will have any different reaction. The continued instability in our financial markets is a result of real fundamental problems. We still face the potential collapse of the commercial real estate markets, and the personal credit card crunch that has yet to make itself fully known. The dollar’s continued weakness is a catastrophe waiting to happen. If our bonds do not sell at auction, (a whisper of which has already taken place) then there is no way we will be able to continue to spend our way out of this recession-depression and our status as the currency of safety will be lost, possibly forever.

The shrinking of America 1 – 2 – 3.

In the days before Pearl Harbor, those in the Japanese high command who were conscious of America’s industrial might, warned their superiors not to attack. They understood the strength and magnitude of the enemy they would face and recognized its endless potential. Once war began and our factories turned in earnest to the war effort it was just a matter of time before we wore out the German and Japanese industrial potential. After the war we held the position of the only financially secure nation in the world. Today, after decades of stripping away the heart and soul of this country, shipping industries and jobs wherever we could to have our blue jeans made cheaper, we are a shadow of our former glory and may lack the strength and impetus to regain that position. The next world war will be fought in the trading pits. And right now China is the powerhouse not to be underestimated.

In July 2010 there will be a configuration of great force. That is the last pass of Saturn opposite Uranus, and it will fall at 1 degree Aries – Libra, known as the World Point. It is the beginning of the zodiac and has great implications throughout the world. Pluto will be in square to that opposition, and this all falls right on America’s Venus. This intense and complicated aspect is gaining the attention of astrologers all over the world. The last time these planets were is a similar configuration was in 1930 - 31, when Saturn opposed Pluto and squared Uranus. But even then these three planets didn’t create this close a t-square.

In late July 2010 Mars will conjunct Saturn in opposition to Uranus. Jupiter will square Pluto, which will be in opposition to America’s Venus. This all takes place within several degrees. At the same time Neptune will be conjunct America’s Moon, ruler of our 8th house of banking and joint resources. This will be an explosive moment in the universe of humankind that may have long-lasting effects. We will try to make useful predictions as far in advance as possible. For now all I can say is: don’t build your castle on quicksand. The foundation is unstable, so act accordingly.

June Horoscopes

by Henry Seltzer

The Astrology of June is very powerful and features all the outer planets and Chiron along with Venus and Mars. Mercury, newly returned to direct motion, is recovering from its retrograde and in square aspect to Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune. With Mercury still in its “retrograde shadow” until it re-enters Gemini mid-month, we are well advised not to push anything during these first two weeks of June, but rather to watch and wait. We will eventually see the benefits of our striving.

Saturn, now also in direct motion, begins this month to make its next pass toward its opposition to iconoclastic Uranus. We are reminded of limitation and at the same time encouraged to move forward into a more vibrant future for ourselves and our world. Last November, Uranus was opposite status quo, stay-the-course Saturn – exact on Election Day – entirely appropriate for where the country as a whole was headed at that important juncture. We are all challenged as we try to hold onto the past while remaining exquisitely poised on the edge of an unimaginable future. This future is currently making itself more consciously felt, representing a departure from all that we have previously known.

When the Full Moon of June 7th comes along, in the middle degrees of Gemini, it squares both Saturn and Uranus, bringing consciousness to bear on their now re-forming opposition. This configuration represents the pull of the unknown versus trying to hold on, all beset by the mystery of on-going societal transformation. This next pass, the third of five exact hits, will transpire on September 15th, just a few days after Pluto turns direct in square with both Saturn and Uranus. This season is therefore proving itself to be very pivotal as we head into the amazing configurations of the years leading up to 2012.

We can expect the two weeks following June 7th to provide feelings of limitation and possibly of perfectionism, a sense of struggle with the fates that ultimately leads to learning opportunities. In the week that follows, with Uranus in the picture as well, contrasting feelings of freedom will also surface, culminating with the Last Quarter Moon of June 15th.

The Jupiter-Neptune-Chiron triple conjunction in Aquarius will fade after this summer, but it is currently still quite active and aspects Uranus one sign away in Pisces. These planets have just stationed, making them even more potent. The New Moon from the last week in May squared them as they draw to their closest point, a position of stronger influence that returns at the end of the year. The symbolism of this configuration reflects our total and unquestioned reliance on Spirit on the one hand, and on the other our fear of failing to meet our highest expectations for ourselves plus the doubt that arises naturally in the human mind when confronted by something so simple and so huge. It could be summed up by saying that we keenly feel the tragedy of our sense of separation from the godhead, even though mystics say that this sense of separation is only an illusion.

For the first week of June, Venus and Mars are in a rare mutual reception to each other, bringing them into close association for the entire month. At the time of the June 7th Full Moon, Venus enters her own sign of Taurus and remains in conjunction with Mars, meaning that the concept of right relationship with ourselves and with each other will continue to play a major role in our thought process and in our actions for this entire monthly period. The conjunction perfects with the June 20th Summer Solstice and the powerful New Moon two days later, when the Sun and Moon oppose Pluto exactly. Pluto in the early degrees of Capricorn reminds us that these climactic times are coming to us for the specific purpose of clearing away the accumulated debris of the last century, just as the snake sheds his skin, in preparation for the next level of maturation to come.

Transits to the U.S. Chart USA

Last month I indicated that there would be more hard times to come for the U.S. economy, based largely on Pluto’s transit to the U.S. Midheaven. Of course there have been many somewhat negative indicators, including the pending bankruptcy of General Motors which was announced in the middle of last month. Another scandal that spells trouble for the image of the United States, especially abroad, is the revelation that photos exist of **** and sexual abuse. This is the material that president Obama has chosen not to release fearing retaliations to American service personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is of course a very Plutonian matter, and affects the image of specifically the U.S. military. Not surprisingly, Venus was conjunct Eris in sextile to U.S. Mars on May 27th, when some of the worst allegations were made. For this entire time frame, including the current month, transiting Chiron is also very close to the U.S. Moon degree, representing the public. Chiron in this case would symbolize the psychic pain of the American people in reaction to the news that we routinely tortured and abused prisoners during the Iraqi invasion. There is also the potential for healing as this information begins to get out, so that responsible actions can potentially be taken.

This month, once again the transit of Pluto to the U.S. Midheaven is featured, and even closer in degree than earlier. This aspect is greatly emphasized by the June 22nd New Moon, which opposes Pluto almost exactly. The Sun and Moon also conjunct U.S. Venus on this day, while Venus aspects the Midheaven. There undoubtedly remain further stages of unraveling still to come over the next thirty days, and particularly at the time of this quite powerful New Moon.

MMA COMMENTS FOR WEEK BEGINNING JUNE 1, 2009

Raymond A. Merriman ©

Note: There will be no weekly column next week, due to speaking engagements in Moscow, Russia. For more information on these presentations, please contact info@astrol.ru. The next column will be released in two weeks, for the week beginning June 15.

Review and Preview

Heliocentric Mercury in Sagittarius, combined with the first passage of the 13-year Jupiter-Neptune conjunction cycle, continued to power many financial and stock markets to new multi-month highs last week. However, many stock indices around the world also continued to exhibit intermarket bearish divergence, as not all made new highs. This is important because we are now in another geocosmic critical reversal zone that will last through next week. If the bearish divergence pattern is not resolved this week, it could portend trouble for stocks throughout the world. If it is resolved, it could portend an escalation of “irrational exuberance,” propelling these markets to much higher levels over the next few weeks. After all, one of the themes of Jupiter and Neptune in conjunction is “no boundaries.” Anything and everything goes. If euphoria and hope sweep the investment community, everyone jumps on the rocket and the sky is the limit. If reality and worry start to emerge, then everyone jumps off the ship at the same time, and a panic ensues. This is not a case where the market climbs the ‘proverbial wall of worry.” Instead, it is a case where the wall becomes a launching pad with no gravity to pull things down, or a perch from which investors fall off, only to discover there is no safety net below. No boundaries. No nets. And the sky (or the abyss) is the limit. You better think or swim.

Short-Term Geocosmics

Was the huge run up in precious metals, crude oil, and currencies against the U.S. Dollar a function of heliocentric            Mercury in Sagittarius, or Jupiter conjunct Neptune? We shall see the answer to this question within the next few days.

If the correlation to this strong surge was heliocentric Mercury in Sagittarius, then any market that has rallied sharply since May 19 may be in for rude fall in the next ten days, as this planet will now enter the more sobering sign of Capricorn until June 9. Whereas the influence of Sagittarius can be very optimistic and speculative (some might say it is the sign of “the gambler”), Capricorn can be more demanding of hard evidence to support such sudden price increases. If there are sound and fundamental reasons to justify such a move, then it can continue.

If the astrological correlate to this rise in commodity and currency prices is more to do with the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction, then it is possible that this trip into “anti-gravity prices” will continue longer. Jupiter and Neptune will be close to one another through the middle of July, for Neptune also turned stationary retrograde on Thursday, and Jupiter will do the same on June 15. In retrograde motion, they will form their second exact conjunction on July 10. Since this is a longer-term 13-year planetary cycle, there is reason to think it will have greater influence than heliocentric Mercury transiting through Sagittarius and Capricorn.

But it is even more complicated than that. Next Friday, June 5, the transiting Sun will start its translation of a T-square to both Saturn and Uranus, lasting through June 17. This of course brings to the forefront the principles of the Saturn-Uranus opposition, which is the longer-term 45-year cycle that we associate with financial collapse and crisis, a condition that started in September 2008 and continues to worry investors even now. In fact, it is likely to worry investors well into 2010, when Jupiter and Mars will both translate the Saturn-Uranus opposition (July-August 2010).

I wish I could say that is the extent of this complicated geocosmic situation now in effect. But there is more. Two days after Jupiter goes retrograde (June 15), the Sun will transit in a trine to both Jupiter and Neptune, thus once again bringing to the forefront the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction principles. And then on July 1 and 6 respectively, first Venus and then Mars will square the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction, just a few days before their second passage on July 10. With so much Jupiter and Neptune in the picture, combined with the ongoing Saturn-Uranus opposition, perhaps financial astrologers can begin to understand why a case could be made for either a huge blow-off upwards in stock and/or commodity prices in the next few weeks, or a huge collapse. As you navigate through these unchartered waters, you must indeed learn to think or swim, float or croak. On a mundane level, these same aspects can correlate to extreme flooding conditions. On a political level, they can pertain to a great hoax, and the starting of false and sensational rumors that harm the reputation of others. It can be a time of alarmist announcements, perhaps as we see developing with North Korea this past week.

Longer-Term Thoughts

There is a saying we have here in Michigan that goes like this: “As General Motors goes, so goes the country and its economy.” On Monday, June 1, General Motors (GM) – now affectionately (or sadly) referred to as “Government Motors” – is expected to declare bankruptcy. The U.S. government will now own 72.5% of GM (hence “Government Motors”), and the United Auto Workers (UAW) will own either 17.5% or 27.5%,  depending on whether or not GM’s bond holders will accept the government’s offer to swap their bonds for 10% stock ownership. The alternative to not accepting the offer is not very attractive for either these bondholders or current GM stockholders, who will likely be left with…. nothing. As stated before, we are in unchartered waters, both politically and in terms of traditional business models.

In Business Astrology, transiting Pluto, Neptune, or Uranus in hard

aspect to one’s natal Venus or Jupiter is a classical bankruptcy aspect.

It doesn’t mean you will go bankrupt, but if you spend or invest your money unwisely, you could suffer great loss, even to the point of bankruptcy. It is a time when one needs to pursue a frugal course of action, and not take financial risks where the outcome is unknown.

In the chart of the United States (July 2, 1776, or even July 4, 1776), transiting Pluto and Uranus are indeed entering into hard aspects to the natal Venus and Jupiter of the United States, 2008-2011.

Let’s hope these “investments” made on our behalf (yes, Americans, we will all now be the proud owners of GM), have been well thought out, and the risks are indeed minimal.

Pardon me if I have some doubts.

I am a Capricorn, which cosmically entitles me to have moments of doubt.

Don’t be surprised if heliocentric Mercury entering Capricorn this week reveals that other investors begin to exhibit some doubts too.

However, that is the purpose of the MMA (Merriman Market Analyst) subscription services. This column is not a subscription service. It is a free service, except in those cases where a fee may be assessed to cover the cost of translating this column from English into a non-English language. This weekly report is written with the intent to educate the reader on the relationship between astrological factors and collective human activities as they are happening. In this regard, this report will oftentimes report what happened in various stock and financial markets throughout the world in the past week, and discuss that movement in light of the geocosmic signatures that were in effect. It will then identify the geocosmic factors that will be in effect in the next week, or even month, or even years, and the author’s understanding of how these signatures will likely affect human activity in the times to come. The author (Merriman) will do this from a perspective of a cycle’s analyst looking at the military, political, economic, and even financial markets of the world. It is possible that some forecasts will be made based on these factors. However, the primary goal is to both educate and alert the reader as to the psychological climate we are in, from an astrological perspective.                                                          PLANETARY UPDATE

Monday June 1, 2009

I apologize to those of you who await the Daily Skywatch only to be disappointed not to have seen it lately.  Writing a daily forecast plus keeping up with the news is a greater task than I anticipated but as things calm down I will hopefully be able to get back to it.

Meanwhile, Skywatch for June is posted and you can read it here in its entirety.  The first few paragraphs refer to the Chiron/Neptune conjunction which many of you have been reading about right here.

To sign up to receive Skywatch every month in your email box, including a translation into English from Astrologese, visit my website.

Here is a tidbit from Skywatch this month that will bring you up to date on planetary events for the first week:

The outer planets spend about 5 months in retrograde motion every year, and for the past thirty years or so, the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) have traveled retrograde during at least a portion of the summer months. The outer planets are also called "transpersonal" planets as they govern areas of life that are often outside of the boundaries of our personal experience.

When planets are retrograde, their influence becomes more subtle; more internalized. It can be more difficult to achieve momentum in the areas over which the planet presides. It may be necessary to apply a greater conscious intention to areas of life ruled by that planet. When all three outer planets retrograde at once we are often forced to perfect a part of our life that has been neglected and which is holding us back from evolving as individuals.

As June begins, Neptune has just turned retrograde along with Chiron. The two have been traveling together in Aquarius since February of 2009 and made their closest approach to a conjunction on May 26 before retrograding in unison. Jupiter will remain tightly conjunct Chiron and Neptune as well and will retrograde on June 15th to catch up to the other two. The three planets will remain within 1 degree of orb until the end of July, and their influence will continue into the beginning of August before they begin to separate (until they align once more in 2010).

For many of us this event has opened up a call from deep within the soul for a life with more meaning and a greater awareness of our spiritual nature. Jupiter is still within range of the conjunction, helping to add flame to the spiritual fire. Not everyone will experience this triple conjunction the same way - for some it will be extremely painful; for some it will feel exhilarating and blissful, and for some it will be a roller coaster ride between extremes of sensation.

Maintaining an understanding of the underlying nature of this planetary event will help to navigate this period with greater clarity. Chiron and Neptune are both soul teachers but they operate with different tools. Chiron is the teacher of wisdom; he opens up the inner doorway to retrieve aspects of our soul that have been lost or hidden from us for quite some time. Neptune reminds us that we are indeed spiritual beings having a physical experience on Earth; we are inspired to dive into the depths of our soul and connect there with the Divine seed that lies within our core being. In order to accomplish the lesson of Neptune, we must walk through the fire of the Chironic experience.

Jupiter expands this process for better or for worse. If we are momentarily retrieving an old wound, Jupiter will open up the doorway for a more complete experience. More painful, yes; but also more effective. Once the healing process is complete we experience the joy of a total alignment between the body, mind and spirit and a blissful Oneness of being.

When transiting planets aspect the triple conjunction they activate it in a variety of ways. On January 2 and for a few days before and after, Venus will harmonize with the conjunction which is likely to facilitate the potential in the conjunction to integrate a deeper wisdom into our lives. Venus is the planet of attraction, and in a harmonious aspect like the sextile which will be in force at this time there is a beauty and a creativity to everything that happens.

A trine of Mars (action) to Pluto (depth and transformation) on the 4th will provide a few days of energy and focus that will help us to utilize the good energy that Venus has brought.

The Sun will square Saturn on the 5th which brings us face to face with our responsibilities that day. We may feel more solitary than usual and more serious, but there is also potential on that day to accomplish a great deal and work towards our goals.

Venus enters Taurus on the 6th. Taurus is one of the signs ruled by Venus (the other is Libra), and for the next month or so we are governed by a love of fine and beautiful things and inspired by creative beauty. This is not a particularly good time to go on a diet, because Taurus loves fine food and Venus can be particularly self-indulgent in the signs of its rulership.

Mars is also in Taurus now, and our drive and desire (Mars) is for stability, peace and pleasure (Taurus). Venus is aligned with Mars for much of the month, moving into a conjunction which peaks on the 21st. With Venus and Mars conjunct for much of the month, our social life is likely to be energized and even the homebodies among us will have a stronger desire for interaction with others.

Weekly Weather June 1, 2009

How in the heavens did it get to be JUNE already!?!

Our week ahead will be quite a bit easier than last week with just as much information delivered, feelings felt and emotions moving. However we are working with Venus instead of Mars so it will be, hopefully, quite a bit easier that last week was. You’ll learn the difference between Mars and Venus by noting the same swell of emotions and how different your reaction to them will be.

We’ll be working with our dream as Venus mimics the aspects Mars made last week to Uranus, Neptune, Chiron and Jupiter. Our week culminates with Venus entering Taurus, finishing her 4 month long journey in Aries (hurray)! Venus sets off in the sign she loves to start the next 8 year cycle in our chart around love, desire, self esteem, money, partners, skills and talents. The Taurus and Libra houses in our chart sigh with a bit of relief as the Venus pressure eases. We move forward. Taurus, in a sign Venus loves, finally catches the energy and information about our desires. We‘ve been hammering our desires, loves, skills and talents out and getting clearer and clearer on what we want since February 2, 2009. We worked hard all through that 40 day retrograde of hers in early Aries. Now we get to do something about all the things we’ve learned.

Your dream may be battered and beaten.

Last week your dream got pushed around quite a bit last week by Mars.

Hopefully, you made it through in one piece and are ready to go.

Hopefully, you looked for and found the string hanging out of the hole near your butt, right were it was supposed to be. Did you find your string ~ something to hang onto when the week got rough?

Just so you know, I fibbed a bit last week, when I used the caterpillar/ butterfly analogy. I did it to help you get through, focused on the metamorphosis taking place with in your being. I did it so you would agree to the changes that were taking place. I did it to encourage you to be brave, true and bold of heart. I hoped you would take that leap and go willingly from caterpillar to butterfly. I did it so you would be clear you might be leaving the folks behind who don‘t want to change into a butterfly. Leave behind the caterpillars who are content to chew on the grass and whine rather than evolve.

It is pretty scary to leave what you know behind and move toward an unknown, unclear future. We watch caterpillars do it all the time. We see butterflies every year so we know some caterpillars made the change successfully. But caterpillars aren’t the worry warts that we humans are! Caterpillars just take that string, climb up the underside of a shaded leaf, start to spin their cocoon and tuck themselves into it without a care in the world. We see the changes taking place around us and go “Whoa! No cocoon for me! No butterfly metamorphosis for me! Ain‘t happening here! No WAY!”

But, of course, we don’t have THAT level of control. Change happens. Change happens with or without our consent. Life goes on. The world spins around. The caterpillars cocoon. The flowers bloom. The tides change. The sun sets. The moon rises. We are sitting here, on earth, watching all that activity go on with out us doing a single darn thing! We ARE part of it. We like to THINK we have control. Not so much control when you get right down to it.

So, if you are not a caterpillar, what are you? And WHAT is that string popping out of the hole near your butt?

The string popping out of your butt is actually more like a spider’s silk than a caterpillar‘s thread. It isn’t there to spin you a cocoon. The string is there for you to build yourself a new web. The string is there to get you to the next place you are going. Same concept ~ a string to help you create something. However, there is a different reason for the string. You, frankly, don’t have ANY MORE TIME to spend in a cocoon dissolving and restructuring yourself into a butterfly. THINGS ARE MOVING FORWARD! It is time to get cracking! Time for you to get cracking on your dream. Time to change and move out of your old life into your new life.

So give that string by your butt a little tug to see how it moves and the tension involved to get it released. Web weaving will be starting soon in the Taurus and Libra sections of your chart. Advanced web weaving techniques are being taught in the Virgo, Capricorn and Aquarius sections of your chart. This week we are going to focus on CLARIFYING the dream you got clearer on LAST week. Over the next two weeks, as Mercury leaves his shadow, you are going to get clearer, and clearer and clearer about your dream.

Remember, there is still a mucky pile of stuff you are not clear on. Focus on doing the stuff you ARE clear about. Leave the mucky stuff in the corner for the time being. The clear stuff is the initial part of your path. NO MORE WORRIES about the mucky stuff you are not clear on. You can do nothing about that right now. Let it be.

Monday we hear NO. Or no! or nOooo! or NO! Venus argues with Saturn. Life is not easy today. Moon fights with Pluto. No is a terrific word. We don’t say it enough. Or with enough Gusto. Shout NO today. NO! NO! NO! A great temper tantrum kind of day. A great day for getting crystal clear on what you are trying to experience in this lifetime. NO! How clear. Refreshing actually. NO. No! Just because THAT person said NO to you doesn’t mean the rest of the world is going to say no to you. That person did. Good. You are clear. They are clear. Now you can go forward.

Tuesday rocks and rolls. Venus picking up speed talks to all the planets that Mars argued with last week. She is in Aries so she can be a bit harsh as she works with your wound, changes up the mix, sees the dream for what it REALLY is, not for what she’s been holding out hope and THOUGHT the dream was all about. Mars asks her (and us) to make a choice. Here is caterpillar jump off time! Here is string out of your butt time! Here is time to spin the cocoon to nurture your new dream. Here is the time to anchor your web for your new dream to a nice stable tree. Or at least to make the commitment to anchor the web, spin the cocoon, leave being a caterpillar behind. Accept that you are supposed to evolve out of caterpillar brain and into a see the bigger picture brain that the butterfly has. Moon in Libra is ruled by Venus in Aries. Can you see HOW you partnered with the earlier version of your dream? Can you see what a big wish it was for you? How deep it was? How profound a wish it was? How scary a wish it was? That wish is tied to a very sensitive and extremely fragile yet important part of your chart. That is where the dream of this incarnation rests. That is your dream point too. Rest in it. Hold it. Nurture it like the fragile dream it is. Let your dream speak to you.

Wednesday Moon in Libra, ruled by Venus in Aries, wants to PARTNER WITH SOMEONE OR IT WILL KILL THEM! Highly passionate energy today. Pallas enters Leo to say the pattern is YOURS! Do you see how the pattern is YOURS? The pattern is NOT about them, it is about YOU! And that statement is not a judgment or to say you are doing anything wrong. It is just to help you recognize it so you can work with it more productively. We, each and every one of us, pull people, situations and stories into our lives to give us the experiences our chart says we want to learn about in this current incarnation. We go to those people, situations and stories with our pasts firmly held in our heart. And then our past repeats itself, yet again, with the new person. Today, or some time this month (when Mercury clears his shadow!), I want you to put down your past. Stand in your own truth. Understand how the people in your life reflect back to you what you think you need and deserve. Do you still want that? If not, the time has come to change it. That is the area you are clear about. Change that area.

Thursday finds Passions high as Moon in Scorpio attempts to process all that has been going on. Mars is trine to Pluto today so power dreams and dynamics fill your night’s tosses and turns. Upon awakening, you’ll be clearer about your patterns and how they hinder or delay you. You might not be happy but you will be clear. Today can be a cranky, crabby day or you can use the energy to power through stuff and get things finished and out the door. The Moon‘s going to be VERY emotional as it works with the energy of change. Remember, some folks don’t want to become butterflies. They want to STAY as CATERPILLARS. That IS their choice. You can’t do anything about it but hold them in the light and wish them well. YOU can do something to change the caterpillar part of YOU (in a few weeks). In the meantime, get clear on it and how it is part and parcel of who you are.

Friday is a crabby cranky or highly emotional day as the Moon in Scorpio squares all those dreams of yours and sees them as a bit threadbare, worn and wanting. Dreams that didn‘t quite make it. Dreams that didn‘t survive into fullness. Dreams that aren‘t going to come true. Dreams that did come true but weren’t what you wanted once you got them. Sun squares Saturn today pointing out the choices inherent in any life and the dreams that don‘t happen are almost MORE important than the dreams that DO happen. We are distinctly and perhaps unpleasantly aware of the BAD choices we’ve made in our life today. And to this I say “So what?” Say “So what?” too! Stand in the process and pride of accomplishment of your life. At least you tried. At least you HAD a dream. At least you went for it. And if at first it doesn’t happen and that dream of yours doesn’t come true, well, there is always later today, next week, tomorrow, next year, another day. Life is about the PROCESS not the arrival. Saturn in Virgo teaches us about the process. Your chart is here to be lived. Or perhaps a LARGE DOG just ran through the web you were contently spinning and left it in tatters. So go, get started spinning a new web for your next dream.

Saturn’s day Venus enters Taurus to leave our long, long, long, long Venus in Aries journey behind. Moon in Sagittarius adds a lightness and happiness to the day. Notice patterns you no longer need (or things you don’t need) and get rid of them. They shed or leave particularly easily today! Sun works with the North Node bringing difficult connections or people who point out the choices you have. You always, always have choices. Choice and the duality it offers is part of the human experience. Venus pushes on Saturn to say, I am ready to change it up!

Sunday, there is a lovely full moon today. Read the full moon report on this site for more information. Our Sun in Gemini aspects Pallas and helps us to see how we want to pattern our future web. We’ve figured out anchoring techniques. We get how we create things. We understand where we learned our early approaches from. Venus’s aspect to the nodes of destiny points out the CHOICE we have to make about our loves and passions. We always have a choice. Often we don’t think we do. Today, take the time to recognize the choice you have. No saying your mother wouldn’t approve or what would other people say about your choice. It is YOUR life. It is NOT their life. YOU HAVE A DREAM! What IS your dream? Can you spin a bit of your web thread towards your dream?

Mundane:

Judge Sonia Sotomayor (June 25, 1954) was nominated for Supreme Court by Barack Obama to fill retiring Judge Souter‘s seat. While I normally expect things announced on Mercury’s retrograde to be reversed, Sonia natal Mercury is retrograde so this nomination will probably stick. She has a strong Mars in Capricorn, retrograde. Sonia was born 5 days before a new moon eclipse. Her Cancer Sun and Jupiter are on the South Node. The upcoming eclipse in July 2009 is on her natal retrograde Mercury and echoes her prenatal eclipse ~ this is a pivotal moment in her life.

Her dad died at an early age (Saturn retrograde in Scorpio at age 2:44). She grew up in the projects with a single mom (Moon in Aries trine Pluto in Leo). She graduated top in her class at Princeton and Yale (Sun /Jupiter in Cancer trine Saturn in Scorpio). She was a litigator and Appellate judge (Mars in Capricorn fights and referrees). Out of 3000 plus rulings by Sotomayor, only 400 were submitted to the Supreme Court. Out of that 400, the court rejected all but 5. Out of that 5, they overturned only 3. On average, the court overturns 75% of all cases it considers. The Courts overturned .0075% of Sotomayor's cases that were submitted. Her track record is far above average.

She’s receiving criticism for her comment about her pride in her ethnic background. She said that personal experiences "affect the facts that judges choose to see." And, "I simply do not know exactly what the difference will be in my judging," she said in a speech in 2001. "But I accept there will be some based on my gender and my Latina heritage."

I love, love, love all the angry white male faces calling her a racist. As the song from Avenue Q goes:

I guess we're both a little bit racist.
Admitting it is not an easy thing to do...
But I guess it's true.
Between me and you,
I think

Everyone's a little bit racist
Sometimes.
Doesn't mean we go
Around committing hate crimes.

Look around and you will find
No one's really color blind.
Maybe it's a fact
We all should face
Everyone makes judgments
Based on race.

Now not big judgments, like who to hire
or who to buy a newspaper from -
No, just little judgments like thinking that Mexican
busboys should learn to speak goddamn English!

Everyone's a little bit racist
Today.
So, everyone's a little bit racist
Okay!

Ethnic jokes might be uncouth,
But you laugh because
They're based on truth.
Don't take them as
Personal attacks.
Everyone enjoys them -
So relax!

It's sad but true!
Everyone's a little bit racist -
All right!
Bigotry has never been
Exclusively white

If we all could just admit
That we are racist a little bit,
Even though we all know
That it's wrong,
Maybe it would help us
Get along.
Yes, I know.

The Jews have all
The money
And the whites have all
The power.
And I'm always in taxi-cab
With driver who no shower!

Everyone's a little bit racist
It's true.
But everyone is just about
As racist as you!

If we all could just admit
That we are racist a little bit,
And everyone stopped being
So PC
Maybe we could live in -
Harmony!

Susan Boyle (April 1, 1961, 9:50 am, Blackburn Scotland 53N45, 002 W29)

came in second in Britain’s Got Talent as Mercury, her ascendant ruler stopped and stationed to turn direct and Neptune/ Chiron stationed to go retrograde on her midheaven on Saturn‘s day, May 30, 2009 when she performed in the final show. Now a You-tube sensation with the fifth highest views ever, Susan lived a quiet life in a poor town in rural Scotland with her cat Pebbles, before she burst into world wide internet fame with her performance on the British equivalent and parent of American Idol.

Susan’s dream, as she told it to Simon Cowell, was to be a singer as famous as Elaine Paige. The audience sniggered a bit while looking at her, a frumpy, frizzy haired, middle-aged, plump church lady who sang in the choir and at the neighborhood pub’s Karaoke. Susan opened her mouth and began to sing. She sang a song from Les Miserables called “I had a Dream.” The audience went wild. The judges were stunned. Susan became an overnight sensation.

As Susan rocketed to fame, the media went crazy writing about her. We learned she was the youngest of 7, never married, never kissed, 47, unemployed, oxygen deprived at birth, and lived with her mum until she died a few years ago. Susan was also a bit slow with her nickname being “Simple Susan”. And, yet, we watched Susan as her dream came TRUE over the past seven weeks. When you go to You tube and search for Elaine Paige, the comments on ELAINE’s You-tube videos ask if you came BECAUSE of Susan Boyle! She toured the states, appearing on Oprah and Larry King. However, her dream didn’t turn out quite the way Susan dreamed it even if she now WAS as famous (or maybe temporarily MORE famous) than Elaine Paige with 235 million viewers on You-tube and various internet sites.

Last week’s pressure cooker of energy resulted in Susan Boyle (and many of us) reevaluating the dream(s) we had. The tabloid press in Britain was picking on her, camped outside her house. She swore at two reporters and flipped them off. There were rumors that she wanted to quit the show. People complained she was too slow mentally so it was cruel to have her be on the pressure cooker of Britain’s Got Talent. We might have wanted to quit if we were under that pressure! Susan didn’t quit. Susan showed up. Susan sang her song. Susan went for her dream, even if wasn’t quite all it was cracked up to be once the dream got closer to coming true and she began to get a good look at. Susan sang beautifully. Susan came in second place.

Now as Saturn goes direct and Mercury joins him going direct, sit down with the lyrics of the song, “I had a Dream”. Think about the dream in YOUR life. Pick yourself up. Give yourself permission to move toward it. Maybe what you’ve gotten or found isn’t the “EXACT” version of your vision or dream. But your life and your earlier dreams did serve to get you to here, to where you are now. Your dream, flawed and not quite fulfilled the way you wanted, created your current life.

There was a time When men were kind
When their voices were soft
And their words inviting
There was a time when love was blind
And the world was a song
And the song was exciting
There was a time
Then it all went wrong

I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung, no wine untasted

But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
And they turn your dream to shame

He slept a summer by my side
He filled my days with endless wonder
He took my childhood in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came

And still I dream he'll come to me
That we will live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather

I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed.

So rather than saying agreeing with the song lyrics that Life has killed the dream you dreamed and continuing to live in hell, look at your life and create the NEXT dream for yourself. Your old dream powered you and brought you to where you are now. Your NEW dream (or REVISED dream) moves you towards your NEXT chapter. Be clear and concise with your New or Revised dream. Dream big, bold, and brave. Take the wisdom of the past and create your future. Envision a new dream. No regrets.

Full Moon '18Sag' June 7, 2009:

Washington, DC

Having glanced at the horoscope for June 7, 2009's Full Moon 17Sag07, set for Washington, DC (2:11:39 pm edt), the Venus Occultation (a rare celestial event) of June 8, 2004 pops out as the Sun spotlights it as well as the major world event that occurred during the Occultation on Sea Island, Ga...'twas the G-8 Summit of 2004.

2004's Venus Occultation (or 'Transit') fell at 17Gem53 Rx; '18Gem': "Two Chinese Men Speaking Chinese in a Western Crowd" (and they're asking: where's our money?)

Marc Edmund Jones' negative expression for '18Gem': "a thorough dissipation of selfhood through alien relationships"...just what our government has done to America, and it's interesting that Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner is in China with our lien-holders now...which may also relate to June 7's Full Moon and US/China relations since oppositions always infer relationship issues or stand-offs.

2004 is also the year that the plutocrat pair of oppression and -isms paralleled one another - Pluto parallel Chiron, mid-August, 2004. The -isms include, as you know: statism, corporatism, fascism, totalitarianism, communism, racism; plus, the favorite of the very select few, primal violence. This conflagration of high-handedness uses population control to further their utopian world view, as well as what Naomi Klein calls Shock Doctrine tactics to destabilize, then take over property, land rights, and resources located thereupon, etc.

So what could the Sag Full Moon of June 7, 2009 be a culmination of in the daily (mundane) world, the fluctuating Moon's purview?

Something was put in motion at the last New Moon 3Gem28, which was a New Moon in Pres. Obama's Lunar Return chart, as previously noted. This reflects a new cycle beginning in the president's daily life (Moon) and/or with public relations (Moon = the people.)

Without taking hours to blurb about this Full Moon chart I do want to note that the opposition of the Sun 17Gem07 and Moon 17Sag07 form a Mutable T-Square to apex Saturn 15Vir10 who's busily working (Saturn in Virgo) in the behind-the-scenes 12th house (a place where most politicians love to hide for secret deal-making and rank-pulling tactics.)

Mr. Reality is now moving forward (Direct) to perfect his stomp upon America's natal ideals and dreams (Neptune 22Vir25, in n 9th house of Higher Education, Philosophy, Religion, Foreign Travels, and In-Laws) in August which also happens to be the position of Pres. Obama's natal Mars. Mars, Saturn, and Neptune make a difficult combination of energies but since I've mentioned it more than once before, I'll keep mum on it here.

In his very useful book, Dynamics of Aspect Analysis, Bil Tierney states that such an apex Saturn is an 'overly rational skeptic, one who mistrusts the power of imagination and the emotions.'

He sounds 'cool' doesn't he?

Less scattering of nervous energies is required to fully express this apex Saturn so that they may be applied directly and practically. Communications may be frustrated, yet through hard work, apex Saturn in Mutable T-SQ has become an intellectual achiever and an expert at 'carefully constructing mature thought systems that can make an enduring impression upon social consciousness.'

Challenges involve authoritative positions which emphasize the 'dispersal or distribution of purposeful data and specialized information' and knowledge which has been patiently gathered and synthesized. This apex Saturn may indicate a scientist, researcher, technological whiz, or a scholar accustomed to managing painstaking details.

Here is 'keen ambition to undertake serious duties and social obligations without resorting to power plays' or an overbearing domination of others. His 'consistent efforts toward the building of true law, order, and justice within his existing society are highly respected by others' and 'personal authority and leadership' show 'strength of character, integrity, and fairness to all those who judge him.'

After hearing Pres. Obama's announcement this morning concerning the GM bankruptcy filed today (Chptr 11), and knowing that Mr. Obama's planet of authority, Saturn, is strong in its own sign of Capricorn (law, politics, business), I'm thinking that on one level, the light of June 7's Full Moon will shine on Pres. Obama's leadership, fairness (a concept he mentioned in his remarks today, yet with more lost jobs on the horizon, that's quite a shaky tightrope to walk), and on his versatile powers of intellect which make him a master of ideas who can get things done on a practical level.

Plus, BHO taught constitutional law for ten years and his Cappy Saturn must have loved that no end!

June 2009

In the ballroom of the Titanic, the band plays on . . . . .

Amidst the biggest financial collapse in modern history last November, we voted for change.  Guess what!  The same military/financial complex still rules America as the banksters and derivatives traders are now being financed and propped up by the increasingly depleted taxpayer.  The Feds’ philosophy is that they ARE the system.  We have escalated the “war on terror” into Pakistan, seeking to put up a so-called diplomatic center (like the walled-in green zone in Iraq) there, in a modern version of the Roman Empire’s occupation of outlying areas that eventually led to their demise.  The same ‘ol music is playing while our ship is sinking.  About 400 billionaires have manned their lifeboats, holding onto their cash and watching the rest of the population listing on the deck as their retirement funds, their homes, and their jobs are washed away.  “Bye,Bye Happiness” is being heard  as Chrysler and GM filed for bankruptcy (whose majority shares are now owned by the taxpayer), Bernanke had to buy our Treasuries in the most recent auction because the smart Chinese are no longer investing in our escalating debt, and unemployment is spreading faster than the Swine Flu.
