Gettysburg Hotel, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

The ghosts here dance in the ballroom and the ghost of Union Soldier James Culbertson strolls through the halls of the Gettysburg Hotel. The nearby Gettysburg battle field is also considered by many to be haunted.

Congress Plaza Hotel, Chicago

Built for visitors to the World's Fair, this hotel was supposedly one of Al Capone's hideouts. A young boy -- perhaps a victim of Scarface -- supposedly hangs out around the building.

Vinoy Renaissance, St. Petersburg, Florida

This hotel has proved inhospitable to many of the professional baseball players that have visited over the year. A Cincinnati Reds pitcher felt the presence of a ghost in 2003 and this year a pair of relief pitchers were spooked by the presence of dead men whose lives had apparently gone into extra innings.

The Battery Carriage House Inn, Charleston, South Carolina

Many visitors to Charleston have reported seeing a decapitated torso floats through this inn. The torso -- so the story goes -- belongs to a confederate soldier who lost his head in battle.

1859 Historic National Hotel, Jamestown, California

A woman whose fiance was shot by a drunk on the premises in the 1800s never left. She apparently died of heartbreak in her wedding dress and has been giving visitors to the 1859 Historic National Hotel an uncomfortable feeling ever since.

Prospect Hill Bed & Breakfast Inn, Mountain City, Tennessee

The ghost here seems to have a sweet tooth, the smell of baking cookies wafts up into the room in the small hours of the morning. Kind of nice as far as hauntings go.
