MUĞLA - Anatolia News Agency

A promotional film depicting the natural and historical wealth of Turkey's southern Aegean coasts will contribute to the international promotion of the country. Sponsored by the Culture and Tourism Ministry, the film will be shot by a U.S. company along the southern Aegean coasts.

Özgür Özaslan of the ministry said the southern coasts of Turkey were extremely charming but needed to be promoted, the Anatolia news agency reported. “The southern Aegean region is peerless in terms of its natural resources and historical assets,” he said. “We have been in contact with a U.S. company for five months for the film project. They will shoot a promotional film which will be broadcast on well-known television channels around the world, including CNN.”

He said the film will contribute to the development of tourism in Turkey, also motivating international cruise companies to come to Turkey. “The cruise tourism sector is growing rapidly in the world. There is a great demand from the U.S. to the Mediterranean in this respect. If the film proves to be influential abroad, I believe the southern Aegean will get its share of cruise tourism.”

Özaslan also emphasized the importance of promotional projects in international media, adding that the feedback from the invited foreign media members and tour operators was quite positive in this sense. “We hosted nearly 2,760 international guests, including foreign press members and tour operators in the southern Aegean region. We are now reaping the fruit because they are promoting our country in a positive way.”
