Hi lindaelli31, welcome to the forum.  I don't think so.  Modern Atlantologists tend to give Atlantis elements that have nothing to do with what Plato originally wrote.  He never said it was the cradle of all civilization, just that it was an advanced power from the Atlantic that invaded the Mediterranean.

The Garden of Eden, meanwhile, is supposed to have drowned in the flood, so it is probably in the Persian Gulf someplace, or the Indian Ocean, if it existed at all.

No the Garden of Edin was an Anunnaki Plantation and not a paradise.

The Anunnaki needed gold to fix their home planet Nibiru's atmosphere from collapsing.

They had 2 bases on Earth.

1. Edin, where they grew all the food for the Anunnaki and humans alike.

2. Abzu, where they did all the mining for the gold.

The nation of Atlantis came much later.

The Edin/Abzu era was like 250,000 to 230,000 BC.

If you read the Bible literally in Genesis on Eden, it states that there were giants in those days, if the giants were people then it would have most likely have been during the time of the Cro-Magnon man. If you take it as dinosaurs then it may have been during the time of the dinosaurs, and possibly on Pangea the single conglomeration of all the continents! Also it mentions of the area to the east of Ethiopia in the Bible, which would either be still in Africa depending how far away, or in Saudi Arabia, or India, (which is the more likely scenario, since more and more findings from India to the Indonesian Islands are coming up with more and more earlier periods of civilization, let alone the Hindu Mahabarata descriptions of their early civilization.

Atlantis to me tends to conjure ideas of seas, or oceans, travel, advanced technology for the age, and possibly interdimensional travel not unlike that through space, or a wormhole. Where as Eden tends to conjure a type of Zoo, with many different kinds of animals, and a colony of life, very firmly planted in a ground or earth.
If Atlantis is one place, I feel it traveled, and moved. Sometimes, it floated in the sky, sometimes it traveled underwater. Maybe even found a way to travel through space/time, using wormholes. The only places on earth to strongly resemble blackholes in properties is the Bermuda Triangle, and directly across the planet from there the Dragon Triangle. Coincidentally when  two blackholes come together or touch they can make a wormhole. Also coincidentally the two deepest places in the world are found, one in the Bermuda Triangle, and one in the Dragon Triangle. These theories are sound, and extensive searches online will give the curious person all the details they need. A wormhole would explain the seemingly different locations "Atlantis" was discovered, or spotted through the ages, how it completely disappears, or seems impossible to find, and the blackhole properties almost obviously explain the odd occurances in both the Bermuda Triangle and the Dragon Triangle.

There were no giants.

The term Anuunaki means those who descended from heavan.  Up until the 20th Century, no other culture could ever conceive of aircraft so it was mis-interpreted as "GIANTS".

Much like El-Dorado - the city of Gold.  The truth was they were golden discoid craft from the planet Venus doing an inter-planetary peace-corp type mission to the tribes in South America at that time.   The natives had these golden discs flying in the air in their cave drawings.  The conquistadors, not know a thing about discoid aircraft, mistook the parked golden discoid craft as a "city" hence the legend of el-dorado was born.

Remember myth inspires but history educates.

Last/Lost Script
(The Garden Of Eden [The Curtain of Oden])

"A ‘napple’ means the ‘sleep of God,’ the trea-
sure of the snake, the rest that comes with know-
ing All, the icing on Life’s cake: the mea-
sure that the Fates conceal, that’s hidden so

its core retains the seeds that could reveal
first steps towards Heaven’s shore: the Tree of Life
that bears these fruits that’s locked with Eden’s seal:
the garden that’s a curtain that makes strife

its cosmic wheel: the answers that are quest-
ions, so what’s found is all that’s lost: all hopes
and dreams and what God seems so what’s confessed
is cost. We are the sacrificial dopes,

the suns on altars spread, that burn out red
in novas bright, as temples of God’s dead."

The more I read Manley Palmer Hall's 'The Secret Teachings of all Ages," the more I come to ascertain that all is allegory.................yet we find everywhere examples of life imitating art and vice versa, endlessly...............

Is Atlantis and the Garden of Eden one and the same?

Yes.  I believe it may well be.

Atlantis may be merely a confused version of the "winding watercourse" used to build the giant "X" that marks the Garden of Eden in Egypt. It's a little far fetched but I doubt the Atlantis story was completely invented.

I disagree, the two myths have only superficial similarities. Why do each of these myths depend so heavily on being one or the other?
