Cheesy   Love thy neighbor as thy brother......
Even if they do play the tunes a lil' to loudly.
And then you got road rage, and for mercies sake, (looks over his shoulder)
Another darn casino is having a grand opening.

Love thy fellow sinner as thy chain.
As thou weepth in silence at the mention of his true God.
Joy mingled with sorrow, as the tears fall like rain.

And suddenly it is no more.....
Cast away into an endless fall, or rising as the sun sets for a day's end.
A whisper from within surfaces and finally peace.

Funny how all of what you were went with you.
How much of what you left behind will be remembered?
How you made others feel is how you will be best remembered.
And all of what made you; You is bound to that energy.

In The end, we owe it to ourselves and God to forgive and commit.
Greed, Envy, Lust, And the other four, whatever they are seem almost hard-wired.
This tells me that I need to not trust the wiring and call a plumber.  Wink

Hello again, all. Smiley

HFN (I pronounce it heffen), you have such a grim outlook on life, therefore it is little wonder WHY you see only the negatives.

Perhaps rightly so. But maybe not...?

It is true, that quite a LOT of people who give, do so for very selfish reasons.

I can think of no better example, than that of a religious person, giving to charity. A religious person, does good, in order to get into heaven, or be rewarded with a bountiful life (or whatever it is that they believe).

Then again, there are some out there who give to TRULY not see it returned. They simply want to help out. (Maybe in their mind, they think that if the roles were reversed, someone may extend them the same courtesy? Who knows, but even so, they don't expect the favour to be returned in any way)

I prefer a more optimistic approach to life, and a lot of people ask me WHY:

I often won't admit it but I have some problems, that most people will NEVER face. One of them being, that I have no sense of touch, or pain, and I cannot taste, or smell. Most would look at this as a setback -- something to make one enjoy life less. The loss of three whole senses isn't fun. Imagine for a moment, living in a world of rich sensations, and not being able to enjoy them. The things you looked forward to, such as an exciting tasty meal, is now nothing more than a fanciful array of tasteless... stuff. No more enjoying that cold beer after a hard day's work -- just something to drink.

Me, while I know that I will never experience the simple joys that most people take for granted, like enjoying a lean, succulent steak, or the taste of candy, or even physical pleisures, I STILL push on, because I see past my limitations, to a bigger picture. (at least i can't complain about how badly you make coffee Wink)

That being said, I still TRY to enjoy the things that others do. I like having a beer or two (although the effects of alcohol are hardly anything to write home about, I also have a very high tolerence to drugs), and I like the look of great food, and so, I enjoy eating it.

What you see, and what you get, are only limited by what your mind MAKES of them. If it's good, it's good. If it's bad, it's bad.

I'm sure most of us have had a lot of difficulty in life. Growing up, we may have been poor, or we may have lost loved ones, and it deeply affected us. And then there is today. I will be the first to admit, that a LOT of people, are awful, Self serving, they lie, cheat, steal, kill, and more. The only thing that is different between them, and others, is their outlook on life -- theirs sucks, and they know it, and won't do anythnig about it, because they think that all is lost. So they act like it, and (whether conciously, or subconciously) try to make others feel like crap, because that's how THEY feel.

Leave them be. That doesn't have to be YOU, too.

Life wasn't meant to be easy, and while it can be hard to get motivated to LIVE, to anyone that has once tried to be more than they are, failure cuts deeper than words can say.

The simple lesson, is to never give up (yes, this old story again).

At least that way, you have a chance of being happy, and free, maybe even rich. Life doesn't have to be so bad for YOU, does it?

All you have to do, is reach a little higher.

Blu my old friend, I wasn't trying to come off in a negitive way at all.
One of the things I was trying to express is that even unto death, we should put all other differences aside.

As for reaching, I won't break my own arm to pat myself on the back or anything but;
I am very active and motivated toward the things that I have to accomplish.

In fact, if I died tomarrow I can honestly say that life has been very full.
If anything, I am lacking only the spiritual fullness I have been wanting all my life.
It is all that motivates and drives my nature.

Read back at some of the posts within the origion of love.
As I said, I have nothing bad to say about life.
It's the way we are all living it that I question.............

Hello to everyone,

I went to church yesterday, the first time in a year.  I don't often go to church anymore, as most here know, I am not one for organized religion.  Going on Good Friday has become something of a tradition to me.  I read someplace lately that people who tend to go to church every Sunday tend to be happier people - I truly believe that.

And yet, is it truly happiness that I want, or to seek new answers to all of the wrongs in the world?

I do not need a church to intercede in my relationship with God, nor do I need their explanations as to why there is so much wrong in the world, and why no entity tries to stop it.

The sermon fell a little flat to these ears - the Pastor's main theme seemed to be an admonishment that so many people these days preferred not to struggle and, instead, wanted "the good life."  I don't know anyone in my life who hasn't, at one time, struggled, and, even if we might crave an easier life, none is forthcoming.

Which raises the question, have some of us truly lost touch with the church, or has the church simply lost touch with us?

I wish everyone a Happy Easter.

Cheers,

Dawn

Happy Easter, Dawn!

You made some good observations about organized religion, and I can sympathize with your frustrations.  I think it would be worthwhile to start a separate thread on this topic.  Others might have some valuable input.

Pity is the size and splendour of some of these churches.  I was reminded of that

by the pictures in my local newspaper today.

My first thought:  How many hungry people would that money feed, how many

medicines and treatments could that money buy for the sick........and lastly, what

would Jesus think?

Love and Peace,

Philosophy is one of those subjects I should have payed more attention in....
It's been awhile sence something new has transpired in regaurds to any subject line.
One of the trends one can notice is the way people are drawn more to the mysteries then the facts.

With that in mind, what can we find that is even more interesting then the fantasy, or mysticism that is factual and evident in our own forum......

Cheesy Now I know that both Fact and fiction plays a role in what we will say and what we won't. For the sake of it all what is your personal feelings about everything?

This is what our personal Philosophies are made of.

For me, I see a chance for a world to change from one of self-destruction, to a utopian culture that is intergrated with spiritual energies & nature with all it's works.

I'd be delighted to, Tom, and what shall we call this new topic, or what subject matter should it deal with?

Cheers,

Hello Harry,

I've noticed that there are two ways that philosophies are shaped - by our parents, and by our environment.

Often, people never shake off their parent's philsophies enough to become their own person and inherit all their parents' prejudices, values and fears.

And yet when one has the courage enough to break the mold, then true change can occur.  To change minds, we have to start with a few ideas, we have to build it, like the foundation of a building.  We have to establish simple rules as to the ways we treat one another and we have to never stray from the path.

Cheers,

Dawn

If we are all one. If everything you sense is in your mind. How then can we owe ourselves?

Well Jake if everyone were to put their heads together for the sake of survival then we would owe it to ourselves to find time for those other things that show us that we are still alive.

It's like a death defying stunt; You do it to feel alive!
For the love of living, we survive.

If our minds could become one for only a moment, our collective thoughts and feelings wouldn't be something owed.
It would be only one step closer to utimately mastering the bigger plan.
Understanding our fellow man/woman, as we know ourselves.

Dawn, I can't agree with you more in regaurds to how we develope a thought process.
As we all know, we are still in a growing stage.

The seeds we plant are what changes the path for others who walk the same.
Mastering the conjunction of mind, body, and soul and actually awakening them to a singal-self and then finding the others who have done the same.

It's a fantasy I like to play over and over in my mind as something that we are now being prepared to do.

What we pass from one generation to the next is only what we learn from experience.
Life is hands on training to stimulate the dreams in your spirit.......
From one moment to the next, everything around us disappears forever in a flash.
To reapear at a nanosecond after as something else. To what ever steps into it behind you.

As a rock in an ocean of substance and material.
And it's here that we are stuck.
No where to go but inward to find ourselves in search of others.
The journey begins with "Hello"

Terrified that someone might answer, but hopeful......
To realize that your never really alone.
Hello me, it's nice to meet you finally after all these years.

To finally discover that we all need each other. To walk in the cold and dark together in search of the light.......
But for now, the moment is not right.
As we hind behind the blaims being pointed towards.
Instead of seeking a hand as were swallowed by the sands of lies.

To be free atlast of the chains that bind me.
Left crying to discover that you always had the key.
Now open the door.
